  1. That is the kind of board with keys you use to see in the 80s.
  2. Crud, I hate to hear that. Good look with your sale. I hope it does well and I wish you and your wife the best. Money comes and goes but comics are in your blood for life.
  3. It is a crying shame some knucklehead trimmed that book. It would have still graded fairly high.
  4. I was your competition on that book but I was not committed. That is a very nice pickup.
  5. Warner needs to multitask like Marvel. My wife puts up with a lot more from me than I do from her. So is Wolverine+Star Trek+Terminator+Watchmen <> Twilight. I think I came out OK. Did anyone pick up anything from the greatest Flash sale in our lifetime this weekend?
  6. My wife just drug me to go see Twilight Moon. The movie was ok but what got me excited are the possibilities. The movie had a good fight scene between the vampires where they were using their super speed. If we have ever get a flash movie the director needs to watch that scene and hire those choreagraphers and effects guys. The Flash has potential to be a very different and awesome movie.
  7. GIC 87 just went for 837.00 on Heritage. I had a strong above GPA bid. That seems a little high in this economy. Still no war books for me.
  8. Did anyone pick up the Stalin book in the Heritage auction. The caption said it was a Gerber 7.
  9. We did have the Mound City 8.0 this fall.
  10. How many more collections like Mound City are out there. Two months ago we did not think that existed and low and behold he had a Flash 110 in CGC 9.0 an early DC 10 center. That could have easily been a GIC 87. There had to be one guy in this country that kept those books. At least that is my hope. It would be sad if there isn't a NM example to be found.
  11. Yes. I think there are still a lot of Raw collections out there with old timers that have not seen the light of day for years.
  12. I think the 9.0 will do good in the Heritage sale but I got my catalog yesterday and when you look through that book there is a ton of high grade material. If the 22 gets a really strong price with that type of competition I will be impressed and ready to say it is the number 2 DC silver age book and right there with the big boys of Marvel.
  13. Anyone see this on Heritage. It looks like a nice copy. I would like one and wonder if this is a decent grade for this book. They don't come up to often.
  14. I think that is a very nice price. If the price jumps are reasonable, the book will stay hot longer.
  15. I know but it is nice sitting there. I actually have other love interests in the upcoming auctions.
  16. Are you saying my 7500.00 high bid is not going to hold up?
  17. Not sure about a 9.2 (you may be correct) but a 9.4, easily an 80K - 100K. All speculation...as none have emerged. Isn't that what this thread is about. Information and then analysis.
  18. X-Men one is a great way to exit the hobby. I actually exited by having a fire sale. Your way is much better. Conventions are what got me. I left because of dishonest dealers pure and simple.
  19. You did a good job buying all of those raw and not ending up with any PLODs. I am not sure if 2003 was still the wild west but when I was buying in the early 90s it was definitely the wild west.
  20. But will #1 ever reach the point of being a top five silver age Marvel. I know it is not as hard as FF1 or Hulk 1 but the demand has to be a lot greater. You are right about the first 20. There are some classic covers in there and issue 50 is to die for in my book.
  21. There are a lot of threads discussing this list of keys vs. that list of keys and the one thing I notice is that silver age X-Men gets the shaft, especially number one. In my mind X-Men is the second most important book behind ASM. I know FF started the deal but I have always thought of them and Avengers as second rate compared to X-Men. I may be biased since I grew up in the 70s but I would like to hear what others think.
