  1. Your dad and I could be great friends. That list of books is pretty much my collection that I sold in 1994. Of course all of my silvers were VG/F but hey, you can't beat his taste.
  2. No apologies necessary. They are very nice books and you are up first. Let's see what some of them bring.
  3. You had your chance. Stay away from my books, I mean Gary Kellers books.
  4. What's that? Not physically damaged but financially damaged. There are bunch of copies on the market that have just been there for 12-18 months with these nutso prices on them and they are not going to sell. So there is a stigma now that SC4 is a slow book when in fact if they were priced right they would sell. I think if these books were priced at GPA or plus 10% of GPA all of them would sell and sell quickly.
  5. The Mound City run is not too shabby either. I wonder how much of an impact having two HG runs beings sold within a couple of weeks of each other will have on prices? In 2007, Doug had Steve's run and Heritage had Marlow's and Fantastic Franks run all at the same time. Record prices were set. This time around, my hope is that is too much. There are a ton of good books in the auctions. In addition, Doug is going to have a 9.2 123 in his next grand auction as well.
  6. But in my mind, Green Lantern has always been more popular than Iron Man and probably sold more books than Iron Man. They both have had hot and cold periods of sales. They both are second tier to their companies big titles. And they both have a lot of potential that is now being unleashed both in movies and in their titles. So compare SC22 to TOS 39 and you can see it is way undervalued.
  7. Then this is my advice- Take the book of the market and hold onto to. The way they are going at it ensures they will never get their price. Otherwise they need to sell at market prices. It is no different than the housing market. Price that puppy to sell or get it off the market.
  8. There have been a lot of SC4 with bad asking prices out there. It is time some of these guys suck up their courage or pride and auction these books if they actually want to sell them. For example CL has an 8.0 with an ask of 30k and a bid of 17.5. The last one sold in '08 for 17K. With the Flash market soft this year that is an insane asking price. I think this book has been damaged because of the inventory overhang. I feel pretty confident I know the price at which this won't sell.
  9. The 6.0 copy that Mark sold last year was a very nice book. It sold for a reasonable amount, had great page quality, and good eye appeal. That was a deal that all of us had a shot at.
  10. Three pages back. It did not generate much interest yet. I wonder if we will see some census creep. Are there some books in mylar that will be shook free and give us a 9.4 or 9.6.
  11. I checked GPA for you and the last 3.5 sold for 2600.00, 3.0 for 2550, and a 2.5 for 1676 All of those were this year. So he is dreaming just a bit on that ask price.
  12. I agree. The thing of it is with few exceptions there are plenty of 9.4s of most Marvel books. Even on AF15 there are 6 9.4 copies.
  13. There is a SC4 3.0 that was just put up on Comic Link this morning. That 109 is a very nice copy. That is probably my second favorite cover from the 10 cent issues.
  14. Well we will soon find out what a 9.0 will bring in auction. Heritage has posted a 9.0. No picture yet but here is the link. Holy Jeepers Batman It is a SC22 in 9.0
  15. I think of the three I might like the cover to issue 30 the best.
  16. Tim, that is one nice book. I nominate you as chairman of the club. Do I hear a second?
  17. There's nothing wrong with paper gains. They sure make you feel good when you get up in the morning.
  18. I love 22 but it is not the only book to collect. I know people rip on the puppet but I have always loved this cover
  19. not so much a 'when" but at what price... I like Richard's 7K value, though Everyone with a SC#22 does. Whatever the grade is Prices seem to stay strong, even on low-low grades. If yours sells around that money, it´ll continue lifting the price into new heights. best offer so far is $5K...so we can "assume" that is the floor to perceived value of the copy This means SC#22 is at least at the same price level as AS#1.........even quite higher and if yours sells at 7k........even a lot higher.. There are over 1500 graded copies of AS#1 and 246 graded SC22, so SC22 is more scarce. 142 collectors and investors can own a AS#1 above 6.5 and only 22 collectors and investors will be able to with SC22. It's really a supply and demand issue here with SC22. As I have mention before, the Mound City copy will set a major tone for high grade SC22. AS #1 (of course, AF #15 is a much better comparable) has been in high demand for 30+ years, SC 22 has been in high demand for two months. high demand, yes, recently it has exploded...but, there has always been good demand for "high grade" (just not very many examples out there to create a reg. market)... I think this has always held back DC Silver age to some degree. There are just not enough copies of HG keys for the most part to ever get the market excited about the books.
  20. Non for me- I'm shopping or lurking whichever sounds better.
