  1. Considering who the seller is, I wouldn't be surprised if it was assembled to appear unique. Look at the X-Men double cover on the last page of this one of many threads about all_things_comics.
  2. Beat but complete. Everything is just and I mean just barely hanging on to the top staple. Cover would be completely split otherwise and CF would be detached. Pages are supple. So what you see is what you get. A really incredible Ogden Whitney cover - a far cry from Herbie. Undercover Girl story and first appearance of Space Ace. Red Fox by L. B. Cole. Also has Fred Guardineer Artwork. Auction ends Sunday, 11-22-20 at 1 pm CST. Starting bid $50 - bid increments $5. BIN $300 Paypal Goods/Services. No returns. Postage - for US, I can do First Class in a padded envelope sandwiched between thick cardboard for $6 or Priority Mail Boxed for $15. International - I need to get a quote for you. I think that covers everything. If you want or need more pics and or questions, please let me know.
  3. Ian Levine did it with DC Comics - I forget when he stopped. His collection went from 1935 - 2014 of every DC Comic including promotionals. They were auctioned through Sotheby's. I forget how long it took him.
  4. I have such a hard time deciding which cover I like best. They are all great. I did have a mask made of #211. Chose it because it centers nicely and I kind of thought it was like Buck was zapping away any COVID particles
  5. Great book. You might want to put the issue number in the title. Knowing it is #22 up front may get you some more looks.
  6. You can add individual issues by clicking the plus sign next to a specific certified copy. It is intended to be ones that you own and they are added to your collection which there is a tab and you can view. It is not what you are looking for but I think that is the closest there is. I would love it if you could set up a want list of an issue and GPA could search the live listings for that issue. Even better if you could denote a grade/range.
  7. I have used Paypal credit with no interest if paid within six months. I think the minimum purchase is $99.
  8. Thanks a bunch, Andy. These obviously have some flaws but still some fun covers. The only problem with you sharing that link is it makes me want to buy some instead of sell.
  9. I have what I believe are all Australian digests/pulps for auction. Manty are from the Phantom Book Series and the numbering corresponds to that series. Most measure roughly 5.5" x 7.25" - the Carter Brown is roughly 5.5" x 8.5" - So This Is Love is roughly 5" x 7" I tried to find as much info as I could and have listed it. I cannot guarantee all the info is correct and would welcome any updates. Mostly worn but from I can tell all complete. I think they are somewhat hard to find but I am in the US and they may not be in Australia/New Zealand. I believe they are all from the 1950s but the Carter Brown may be from the 1960s. Oddly, no dates inside on most. Auction Deets: Starting Bid is $10. BIN is $200 Increments of $3 Auction Ends Saturday at 1 pm CST. Paypal Goods/Services. US shipping media mail of $6 (as I believe these qualify for media mail but if mistaken, let me know and they will go Priority Mail $15) International bidders, I will need to get a quote for you. No returns unless there is some egregious flaw I missed but please bid accordingly as these are not the highest grade. If you need more pics, please let me know. If this is somewhat successful, I have a few more I might try that are in better condition but wanted to test the waters with this lot. Included: Bargain in Blood -1953 reprints US Gold Medal Book #162 - tape on spine, first page has just a small amount of writing - if you need pics let me know. Extra staples added. Crime Story Detective Volume #6 #10 - I couldn't find any info on this one - pieces out of covers and spine split about half way but still currently holding together. Great Painted Cover on this one. Hunt the Killer #6 -1958 - Cool cover, and decent condition but rough spine, The whites on the cover are part of the cover but if you look quickly, it appears there are missing pieces which there are not. Knife in My Back #634 - 1955 - Spine roll and glue on spine of cover. Mountain Bride #269 - 1954 - Star Books - stains, small pencil on first page - rougher back cover The Case of the Black Orchids #607 - tape on spine, extra staples. small pencil, pen first page/interior BC Carter Brown #5 Reprints three stories by author Carter Brown - "Lady is Murder" "Cyanide Sweetheart" "Madame, You're Morgue Bound" - glue on spine of cover So This Is Love - My Pocket Library Series - Small pencil first page but this is the nicest of the lot.
  10. Thanks to all for cheering me up. A chuckle with all the funnies and the good news is I got power late last night. And the winner is Paul - something I had never seen before, funny and awkwardly reminds me of my recent experiences Paul - I'll send you a PM for your paypal addy.
  11. That is something. I have been a dog owner almost my entire life. We had a dog when I was seven so for 50 years. I have some bird dogs but I fell in love with dachshunds when I was married, I swear that dog had a better nose than any bird dog I ever owned. I stopped hunting after my daughter was born, just didn't feel right anymore. That dachshund once opened a drawer got to a chocolate bar and devoured it. Keep in mind the drawer was at least a foot above his head but he managed to get on the bed and open it. Took him to the vet when I saw what he had done as I have heard chocolate can hurt animals. Btw, he was a long-hair. After my divorce 6.5 years ago, I went pet-less but thought the time was right as I needed company and also thought it could be therapy for my mom. This only difference between now and when I owned dogs earlier is I am lot more feeble than before. Pups do tire you out My ex-wife got another long hair dachshund but she is battling cancer for a second time and it appears that the cancer is winning as it is Stage 4 and she is too tired to continue so she appears to be stopping treatment. I did convince her to go see another oncologist which she is doing on Tuesday. With that said she wants me to take her dog if she is not able to continue. And an update on my electricity - it was supposed to come back at 11 pm last night but now they say it will be another two days so it appears I will hit the two week mark. And lastly through all of this, the part that makes me cry is for my daughter, She and my mom has have always been close and now her mom may not be around. All this while she tries to finish her last year of grad school.
  12. Stiff competition here. All of these have bolstered my mood. Still no power. The electric company estimates tomorrow. At least the weather has been in the 70s the last few days and that will continue through next Tuesday when we get another cold snap. Keep 'em coming. Not much of a prize I know. I appreciate all of you and have so very much enjoyed this community when I joined in 2007. I was off for nearly two years when I had major health problems not knowing if I would walk again but when I got some of my health back, this was the first place I came.
  13. I have been without electricity for almost two weeks and it is maddening. Hoping to get it back tomorrow night at least per their estimate. Some of you know I have been caring for my mother who has dementia and although I tried to get my dad to take her to hotel when this started, he refused because he is a cheap arse, my mother finally broke down and I had to call an ambulance. Her hallucinations got the better of her. They actually had to straight jacket her because she had become violent. They deferred the 72 hour emergency order of detention ( i think because of limited bed space due to COVID as there were only two hospitals not on divert that she could be taken to). Tough seeing your mother in that way but I did get my dad to go to a hotel which I paid for. A few weeks ago, my mom's sister died from COVID (she too had been suffering from dementia) and that was a major blow to mom. All this in the midst of my caring for a new puppy which I hope with be therapeutic for my mom. I would have taken my mom to a hotel myself but I could not find any that were pet friendly still available. It was hard enough finding theirs. Still nearly 80,000 households without power but down from over 220,000 when the ice storm hit. I have also had to try to keep my injections refrigerated and the dog has a med that needs to be refrigerated. She was a rescue and had issues when I got her. Over $600 of vet fees so far but she is good company for sure and I am already very attached. I did finally get to borrow a generator from a patient of my brother's (he is a physician) but it is light weight and I can only run it sporadically. I can though charge my devices and luckily have a mi-fi device that works well although I bumped up the data usage threshold before I am throttled back. So here's the deal - no sympathy wanted/needed. MAKE ME LAUGH - give me something funny - preferably comic book related. Whomever makes me laugh the hardest will get a $5 gift card. You can choose a virtual gift card from mygiftcardplus.com and their selection of retailers. They do have Ebay, Amazon, etc. It does take up to a few to process an order but sometimes within a day. I will send the code to the winner once I receive it. BTW, I think they are all virtual cards but just in case, please make sure it is a virtual option. I had a suggestion via PM which I liked - the prize is just $5 via PP friends and family. That just makes it easier and the winner can use it however they wish. Let's go through this weekend and end at noon CST this Sunday. Hopefully I have power and some sense of normalcy. So Begin the Laughtrack Beguine.... Here's my new rugrat...
  14. Similar, no doubt, to: A convergence space is a set SS together with a relation →\to from FS\mathcal{F}S to SS, where FS\mathcal{F}S is the set of filters on SS; if F→xF \to x, we say that FF converges to xx or that xx is a limit of FF. This must satisfy some axioms: Centred: The principal ultrafilter Fx={A|x∈A}F_x = \{ A \;|\; x \in A \} at xx converges to xx; Isotone: If F⊆GF \subseteq G and F→xF \to x, then G→xG \to x; Directed: If F→xF \to x and G→xG \to x, then some filter contained in the intersection F∩GF \cap G converges to xx. In light of (2), it follows that F∩G→xF \cap G \to x itself. (Strictly speaking, the relation should not be called directed unless also every point is a limit of some filter, but this follows from 1.) It follows that F→xF \to x if and only if F∩FxF \cap F_x does. Given that, the convergence relation is defined precisely by specifying, for each point xx, a filter of subfilter?s of the principal ultrafilter at xx. (But that is sort of a tongue twister.) A filter FF clusters at a point xx, written F⇝xF \rightsquigarrow x, if there exists a proper filter GG such that F⊆GF \subseteq G and G→xG \to x. The definition can also be phrased in terms of nets; a net ν\nu converges to xx if and only if its eventuality filter converges to xx. The morphisms of convergence spaces are the continuous functions; a function ff between convergence spaces is continuous if F→xF \to x implies that f(F)→f(x)f(F) \to f(x), where f(F)f(F) is the filter generated by the filterbase {f(A)|A∈F}\{f(A) \;|\; A \in F\}. In this way, convergence spaces form a concrete category ConvConv. Note that the definition of ‘convergence’ varies in the literature; at the extreme end, one could define it as any relation whatsoever from FS\mathcal{F}S (or even from the class of all nets on SS) to SS, but that is so little structure as to be not very useful. An intermediate notion is that of filter space, in which (3) is not required. Here we follow the terminology of Lowen-Colebunders.
  15. Or think their books are pristine 9.8s+ For me though, I have everything pressed at least three times, rinsed and pressed once more. And always, always use color-safe bleach. I get high grades and the whitest pages.
  16. I don't know if he will see this since you didn't quote him but you should send him a PM. I'll ping with this @Rich_Henn
