Keys & GA,SA,BA Comics 4 Sale
telerites replied to tigers comics's topic in Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Only
Sallisaw - yeah that was it. I'm from Coweta originally - born in Tulsa. Before I retired, I worked for the state for 30 years - we had 40+ local offices all over the state that I would visit. I think Sallisaw and Stillwell are still set up as itinerant points out of Tahlequah. But I have been retired for just over five years now so not sure. Anyway, happy to see you posting and selling some books. Take care, -

@tigers comics Always good to see one of your sales thread. Weren't you in Tahlequah or someplace NE Oklahoma? We would always visit when we were both able to come to OAFCON. Hope all is well. -

board member Shoomanfoo stole my comic
telerites replied to Catwomancomics's topic in Comics General
It makes wonder how they can charge the sender for this service if they are not doing. And I cannot blame them for avoiding contact. I wouldn't want their job - my area is a walking route to make it even worse for the carrier. But adding sig confirmation doesn't seem to be worthwhile at this point. -

Does USPS still even require sigs or just drop the package off because of COVID? I know UPS does that and I am not sure if Fedex went that route as my last Fedex still had them at least asking your last name to confirm. The reason I ask is because I have had USPS leave sig required packages at my door without asking for a sig or the postal carrier signed for me. Since I am retired, I am normally around especially these days. \ -
Sorry again, Jason. I do hope it turns okay and does seem more painful than needs be. Take care.

Hi Jason I guess it gets you and the buyer to the same end. Not something I would necessarily do as a buyer. Does it not provide you protection as well? I just read that mess in General about the stolen comic. At least this way, he provides proof of mailing and delivery before he gets the funds (is that how it works)? Just assuming since I have fortunately had to go through this as either a buyer or a seller. If I had some reason to be skeptical or hadn't dealt with the other party and wanted to go this route, I would let them know beforehand at least. And I don't know if the conversation will be moved to the General Sales Discussion thread since at this point, I don't think there is anything probation worthy yet. I hope it works out without much stress. I have bought from you before and have never had an issue and would have had no qualms just doing the exchange like you offered. Just the willingness to accept the return or some discount offered goes a long way and add to the fact how many successful sales threads you have had, most would know you are trust-worthy. Good luck.

telerites replied to Warren Oates's topic in Golden/Silver/Bronze Age Only
I'll take this one, Dan. Thanks. -
Yeah weird to me as well. There was some discussion in the Heating up Thread too.
-
Oops. Sorry Sean, I did not pay attention to Dan's post. Sorry Dan @Par2ch Sorry. I just looked at your first post and started searching. Carry on folks, my ignorance has shone enough
-
I am definitely not an expert but I did some searching and wondering if it might this person - Jeffrey Edwards - https://www.deviantart.com/jeffreyedwards Perhaps done digitally. An example and blow-up of his sig.
-
Steve, I'll take this at 20% off

There was an online grading tool I think by something like E-Bigs but it no longer around. This one still is, https://www.comicbookgradingtool.com/ Not exactly what you're talking about but thought I would share. I have used it nor know much more about it other than seeing it a thread some time ago.
-
They will. They will send you a return shipping label with complete instructions for it being a Mechanical Error (as they call it). They will reholder free of charge and return to you. No cost on your part. Just a hassle to box it up and drop off.
-
I think it would cool to have mood-sensitive labels like mood rings.
-
I don't see why that wouldn't be okay since you know the grades already. After re-reading the rules, Rule #7 below says a scan is not needed and I do not see where the book must be in hand. My personal feeling is you should have the book in hand with scans. I assume your thread rules would be I'll Take pending scan which always seems cumbersome to me. If you have raw scans, I think posting those would be great but if you are having them pressed, that could change the appearance of the raw book. Also on the rare occasion that a book is damaged or mis-labeled by CGC, then the buyer may not be willing to wait for you to have it re-holdered. But those are just my thoughts and unless someone knows differently, it certainly seems to meet the requirements. By the way, are you still in Tulsa? 7. List scans or an estimated grade of the offered books (additional information giving the rationale for the grade is also beneficial and will help your sale - ESPECIALLY if you do not have a scan - but not required in the initial post).

I have liked this chart although it is dated. Not sure if the copyright date at the bottom of the page (2013) is the last update. One of the notes is not having seen "Light Tan to Cream Pages" but there are books with that PQ - example below from HA. And I cannot believe the Uncanny X-Men #214 with tan-cream in 9.8 or the #239 with tan-pink in 9.6. I knew about the Fox pinks but that was because of the paper used so I don't look at those as a negative PQ. I just have a hard time believing CA/MA books have pink pages. I have always thought CGC should note both Page Color (PC) and Page Quality. I mean Slightly Brittle is not a page color but a measure of quality. The problem I guess is how detailed suppleness would be. If it were I, it would be simple - Supple, Slightly Brittle, and Brittle. So let's say you have a book that has CR-OW PC and has SB PQ or a CR-OW Supple.....

Paypal Goods/Services No Returns I'll Take in the thread Coo Coo Comics #51 CGC 8.5 OW-W Highest Graded, Only Two on the Census (No doubt because who would submit these ) No GPA Recorded Sales so not sure how to price it. There is a Voldy 7.0 on Ebay for 89.99 w/Make Offer +$15 shipping so $105 all in but it hasn't sold so that tells me something. I looked on Metro and some other sites and this issue wasn't in their inventory. So I used Johnny Quick's Speed Force Connection Formula of 3X2(9YZ)4A to extrapolate the following price Asking $140 Shipped in the US

Trying to remember a limited series - FOUND IT!
telerites replied to Jesse-Lee's topic in Comics General
so not an anthology like "By Bizarre Hands" Just picked that because it is Dark Horse in 1994 - three issues. Different authors adapted some of Joe Lansdale's stories to comics. First issue image below. Edit - I doubt this since I re-read your post and it sounds like one full story and not separate stories.
