  1. That is very cool, Bats. Your books are always stellar condition and I personally think Bats is a conservative grader.
  2. you can price it whatever you want but i think it is a slippery slope to price high because of an assumption a press will improve the grade, besides would you figure in the cost to press for the buyer?
  3. I am unsure if I have seen it used but Arch developed the Mark as Sold Function - https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/410491-please-check-out-the-mark-as-sold-function/ I guess if the items are unsold but still want to close/lock the thread, perhaps could do a simple rewording. Kind of would be nice as we all have seen take its from threads years old. We joke about it but it bounces the thread and takes up space for current sales threads.
  4. That would also be what my wallet looked like if I bid and won on most of these.
  5. Four heroes on the cover to four heroes on the cover
  6. Sherwood is a city right next to Toronto, pedigree-ally speaking
  7. Think the 30 day period is still in effect so it wouldn't be for another 3+ weeks for an official nomination but seems that it will be forthcoming given the seller's reluctance to attempt any reconciliation. By the way, the seller is still listing books in the thread. Hoping he can work this out with Paddy.
  8. He would have to get a 9.8+, no? And the profits would be less the pressing, postage, subbing... It seems he should just follow-thru on the original deal and all would be good; although, reputation damage has already been done.
  9. Why would someone get a $40-$50 books pressed and slabbed? Isn't that just foolish and giving money away?
  10. to a non-brewskie holding Cat doubling up on some GA goodness
  11. And so the plot thickens - hey guys thanks for helping me boost my post count as I don't normally even post in this area Seriously good luck and try to work it out.
  12. Was that mentioned in your PM response or that you just wanted to keep, slab, and sell later? I actually had a sales thread sometime ago that I mistyped the price and someone took it. I was my bad so I followed through, I left the 1 off a listing so a difference of $100 from FMV. I have also posted the take it when I saw it was an error to protect the seller and I had no intention of buying. There was a thread a while back about this very subject as to whether the seller should honor their prices even if a mistake. I wonder if you can post in the sales thread opening, if you post something in error such as price, you reserve the right to refrain from selling until after you add the correct price but that would really muddy things and give the seller the perfect remorseful out. I guess the safest would be to create in the testing thread and review thoroughly before listing in the sales thread.
  13. Screenshot the entire conflab and save offline in case the boards flutter and something go missing. I would at least tell him you have started some discussion so he is aware and can post his side. It would be nice if this could be worked out before the 30 day and save everyone the hassle. Good luck.
  14. Well you do have your post of the take on 6-2. Have you sent him a PM asking what's up and that you have started some discussion about the alleged tom-foolery?
  15. I'm confused - how can he delete your post where you post the take it? Did you not quote the book or at least insert the book you took? He cannot delete that unless the new boards have that functionality that I do not know about. Outside of I believe only a mod cold delete a post.
  16. Well, Paddy, not too hard to figure out which thread this was. It almost seemed like he missed your take it post since he quoted the take its from another buyer. Seems pretty cut and dry unless there were some post take it PMs in which you attempted to modify the terms (which I doubt happened).
  17. You know I was going to post the same thing, I don't enough of this and most of the time all I have is .
  18. So you posted the in the sales thread at the price the seller listed or came to terms with agreement by you and the seller in a PM and then were told, they were not selling it? I would have to see the full conversation both ways or the actual in the thread but if this was the case, certainly seems like seller's remorse and could be PL worthy.
  19. Dave, I read it as his family had a pawnshop and doesn't anymore. I am always skeptical but this one gives me pause to think. If you are going to scam, don't use a coverless copy. He has multiple pictures and has sold a variety of items like tools, coins, musical instruments - the kinds of things you would find in a pawnshop so maybe inventory from his family's closed shop but other than one listing, nothing too recent. It may be legit in that he thinks he has a real #1 but doesn't know the difference. This would be one I would want to see in person. I still lean toward skepticism but it is interesting.
