I love this thread - another cool pic.

The caption should read:

"A young Chuck Rozanski sitting at his make-shift desk, contemplating a future selling Near Mint books (such as those pictured), glass pottery and growing a pony-tail."

Has anyone posted this one?

2 books IDed as Kerry Drake 9 July 48 and Tip Top 143 June 48

Jack

I saw that photo in this month's Reminisce magazine too. (thumbs u

(It's a fun mag, my parents bought me a gift subscription.)

I couldn't identify any of the comics other than the ones you mentioned.

I didn't know where it was from or make the IDs myself -- just passing along some web info.

Good lord, I hope I'm not geriatric enough for Reminisce magazine. It's bad enough they don't deliver AARP magazine in a plain brown wrapper.

(Thanks for identifying the source)

Better late than never. Newstand November 1938. Two pics that need to be side by side. Comics at mid-top left. Enjoy!

Yeah, I noticed that too. :applause:

Where are the early DC's to go along with them? (shrug)

I stumbled on its large high res version and we can stop squinting and look at those books easily in the shot below. Creating it, I realized that I have a copy of the Amazing Stories right above the comics -

We posted on this before. See my bump above, as well as West's list of IDs:

Sweet - and now thanks to your blow-up, we can easily identify the rest of the books from right to left:

Funny Picture Stories 2/11

Star Comics #16

Adventure #32

Comics on Parade #9

Keen Detective Funnies #11

Super Comics #7

Funny Pages 2/12
