Wow, I wonder where in the Philippines that took place... My dad used to collect comics, but he told me they were thrown out by his mother!?!?! It would be a trip if he was in that pic

I'm going to the Phillipines next month searching for a couple of grails. :headbang:

I hope there are in better condition than those books in that picture were though.

And if you see any vintage Homer Simpson mask, take a picture :)

Oh cool, have you ever been there before? What grails are you searcing for there? There's a few comic shops around there, but rarely did I see any GA or SA books. Good luck with the hunt!

Screen shots from Superman TV series.

Lois and the Man Of Steel himself...!!

That's not the man of steel - it's some guy with glasses. :insane:

funny you guys say that stuff. growing up with Reeves performance, I see that suit and his casual pose AS Supes himself! Its ingrained in my brain. Even when Reeves shows up in other films he seems too cool and relaxed like he knows hes got superpowers.

Not exactly a newsstand pic, but comics-reading in the media.

This is from a 1960 issue of "TV Radio Mirror" -- Dee Finch from WNEW

in New York. He and his radio partner, Gene Kalvan, are dubbed "Masters of the Mad Lib" in the mag. A condescending "even Superman" (127) comment, isn't it?

Mrs. Finch looks to me kind of pizzed off about the whole thing.

Looks like Superman 101 from 1955 and Batman 95.

Not a very good source, I'm afraid. They're also representing our very own blowupthemoon's mock-up of the OA for the cover of Action #1 as the real deal.

That's Flee's creation.
