I agree. Its not for everyone, but It's one of the most popular comics in the modern age, like it or not. I love it ! Belittling it makes you look cynical and petty ! WD is great !

Character development, yes. But I wouldn't go with key. And I know they announce their name, but there were full on appearances, references, etc of "The Whisperers" in the past few issues.
