When you invent the death of a parent in the middle of a deal with another boardie in an attempt to alter the deal or excuse your lack of proper performance you have lied in the midst of a transaction.

 

That's also the definition of a scam.

While looking through an old thread, I came across this lil' nugget of fun.

 

HusTruck calling out Symbiotic for shilling his auctions. Two short months before HusTruck started shilling HIS own auctions.

 

 

I full heatedly take responsibility and apologize for the eBay shilling. As you can see the are my first auctions and I didn't know the norms, or the fact that what i was doing was so heinous. All the auctions will be take down immediately.

 

Jkim2059 was the shilling acct, jkim2058 was the selling account.

 

I would like to take a moment to defend myself however, as I have been a decent member of this boards marketplace, outside of this YouTube blunder. Take a look at my feedback thread, please feel free to contact any of those members about my qualities as a seller and buyer. Pics always pay and ship in time, with the most active comma possible.

 

While getting it all out on the table, I have been accused of using personal hardships to attempt to garner sympathy and even sales. A lot of you fail to believe the severity of some of these real life situations. At every step I've offered doubters to PM me for proof of doctors bills, police reports or the like, never once have I been taken up on the offer, yet the claims of "BS" continue.

 

I've spent 10/ of thousands of dollars on purchases on this site and have sold thousands as well, I up on this eBay thing, but I'm tired of feeling like I'm a black sheep for being open about what's going on in my life

 

Ike illing to Dow hate we to mKe this right, or walk away from these boards all together. I've LOVED. my time here, made friends and had great convos but I continue to feel like I'm against it.

My mouth LITERALLY DROPPED while reading this!

 

My eBay auction just ended a few hours ago, and the only reason it ended at the price it did IS NOT because someone was putting fake bids on the auction, but because a few hours before it ended I posted a thread in this forum and PEOPLE ACTUALLY INTERESTED BID ON IT.

 

And guess what, I don't even think I made $ on it.......

but hey at least I didn't do something illegal and highly dishonorable.

 

IDC if you gave me 90% off, I would never do business with someone like you.......

 

WWW.IC3.GOV investigates and prosecutes people who do exactly what you just did. So don't think i am joking when I said illegal.......

 

Wow. I'm pretty sure that Hustruck shilled against me when I regrettably bought a group of books from him back in December on ebay too.

 

Also, it looks like Hustruck gave that Action Comics slab away (the one he took a neg for after it only went for $0.01):

And when I caught him telling the tale of being unemployed again and yet buying books from fellow forumites, I made the mistake of bringing this up in a sales thread. CCGMod0 came a'knocking - which he was right to do.

 

But it was still frustrating to see stories being told, and people were not putting the picture together what he was doing.

 

1) HIS THREAD: Oh man, I'm unemployed again and about to get kicked out of my house. Please help.

 

2) OTHER THREADS: Hey, how much for that Avengers #1 you have for sale? And I'll take that Tales of the Teen Titans #44 too. My sister needs that book, and my friend needs the Avengers #1.

 

I guess it was a go-hungry move to make other people happy. It had to be, right?

Exactly. I really try to pay attention to my interests and be fair in my dealings. I've seen many books I thought were fantastic deals turn into complete shills...

 

Case in point, saw a Sandman #1 with apparent Gaiman sig and sketch(He highlighted the eyes in pen) and the phrase "Sweet dreams" on the cover.

 

Pretty damn cool....but the bonus was the Kieth signature on the SECOND page, IDENTICAL to his sig on the covers of The Maxx series. Anyone who collects Keith knows he does not sign his books that way. Went into discussion with the seller about where they obtained the books. Reply was, " Some yard sale a week ago".

 

 

Why would this be a red flag? I own a stack of books signed by Kieth where he used his artist signature ...

I was one of the boardies that Symbiotic offended at the time, I gave the and he doubled the price on the books.

After his brief layoff, he PMd me and offered me an apology & free books ( not taken) by way of amends.

I accepted his apology & told him then that I didnt hold a grudge.

I think a lot of his early concerns may have been a bit of naivety & n00bness, I dont think that he is in the same league as some of the other losers mentioned.

 

All that said, I would hate it if boardies like Joe stopped identifiying the scammers when they rear their ugly heads

 

The previous year he purchased a New Mutants 98 CGC 9.8 from me. Then the next day informed he had just lost his job, and needed to keep all of his money handy as there was no telling when he would be employed again. So naturally, I quickly let him out of the deal.

 

Meanwhile, I have another thread going with a long-time, well respected seller on here. We talk about what happened to Symbiotic, and I mention how horrible the economic situation has been to people's long-term employment.

 

He states, "That's odd. He just purchased an Amazing Fantasy 15 from me, and had no problem paying." This is the day after he backed out of our deal. When I brought this forward, all of a sudden he immediately had the cash to pay for the book he couldn't buy.

 

So there was no "OH MAN - I'M A NEW GUY THAT DOESN'T KNOW HOW THIS COMIC BUYING THING WORKS ON HERE." So whenever I see him post he has lost his job again - which he did months ago and meanwhile was buying books in the Gold/Silver/Bronze section "for his sister and friends" - it makes it hard to take any hardship story as serious.

 

Not to mention something about being mugged in England and not having any money....

 

Sorry Swick. This guy is a grade A loser. Period.

 

SC1 is just a doosh, just as bad, but not quite in the same category as Symbiotic

Then there was his sales thread where he said he needed to sell most of what he had just to pay his rent, while at the same time, trying to buy keys from various boardies. When callled out on it, his response was something to the effect of "just because I'm broke doesn't mean I can't buy books." Thanks to the mods, that set of interactions is no longer "accessible" to us commoners.
