You are wildly over emotional and fritter back and forth between self righteous and belligerent. Agressive and then docile. I am hoping it is because you are immature and 18 because then I would understand you a bit more and you wouldn't irritate me as much.

I am pretty much a shut-in so the internet is all I have as far as human contact goes.

Kav, if you stay mostly a shut in (and you really shouldn't), I highly recommend pouring through old threads. In addition to valuable board history, this forum contains an inexhaustible supply of comic knowledge from some of the brightest in our hobby. I often lose myself for hours at a time reading old threads in hopes of learning new things.

 

My own forum postings are responsible for a small fraction of my time spent on this website. I'm too busy learning from others and not as knowledgeable to contribute meaningfully with new posts most of the time. Like I said, read more and post less. You'll be thankful that you did.

thats good advice. when i first discovered this board i spent 20 hours reading and was blown away by all the info. I didn't even know what a 'slab' was. There's just so much there its overwhelming. but i need to do it. and keep my mouth shut. i impulsively want to jump in when i come across something interesting.

Bob may be a lot of things but not sure about the Oldbuck fleecing.

 

Remember who the Advisor was to the OSPG for Victorian Age items... Beerbohm. The allegation is that he manipulated Guide prices to inflate the value of items in his own inventory. When the market can't sustain such inflated prices, it dumps.

 

Also, on one of those copies of Obadiah Oldbuck, BLB had told the owner that the book was 'worthless' and refused to pay her. When she found out about the big sale, Beerbohm would not communicate with her at all (sound familiar?).

 

She finally contacted one of BLB's associates to demand payment, and something was eventually worked out to keep things quiet.

yes, he finally shipped them and buyer received them.

It was classic and bizarre all at the same time.

Mitch misspelled Bob's name as 'Beerbong', and tried to fan some hero worship for Bob to misdirect away from a $3000+ pulp purchase that Bob kept making excuses for not shipping over 5 months (to a forum member)

When Bob came online to address his critics with a massively worded wall of text that made more excuses and got offensive, it was all downhill from there.

Most of it all got scrubbed.
