A couple of local antique shops

So I hit the back bins at a local record shop that has comics. Lots of independent stuff and I knew some Dave stevens would be hiding in there 

 

And then today at a local con, I found some nice things. I got a decent deal on the bagged and boarded stuff shown ($120 all in) but the big winner was the Iron Man 3 for $2! In a bin of unbagged beat up Archie’s and such. The hot wheel was also $2 which was great because I always grab late 90s early 2000s era hotwheels with metal bottoms

Had a nice find on Facebook Marketplace this week. Some of these might have been old store stock at one point but the condition on the multiples isn't NM. That is probably due to being moved around and not being in bags/boards. Plus, who knows what was picked out of it as the woman said she had them for quite some time except the "ones she'd given away." Not sure where the Lootcrate ones entered the picture as they don't really "fit" but with that $100 TMNT reprint I wasn't complaining. Lol. Still a very cool lot with tons of eclectic fun books. Not pictured were some Dell, Sad Sack, Charlton cartoon and a few old Westerns. An enjoyable time to go through these. 😊

I wouldn’t have normally bought a phantom comic as it’s not something I collect but I had to put something alongside the cool Aurora models I got for a few bucks a few years back. If anyone had the one gold key issue where this little voodoo guy is on the cover I’d love that too (issue 9 or something?).

Phantom is complete with his gun holsters they just aren’t attached right now

It was a very fortuitous weekend for garage sales in SoCal. This was my dealer friend’s yard sale haul. They promised comics, but had no pics in their ad so he took a chance since he missed going to sales on Saturday. The sleeved comics were $5 each and the loose ones were $1 each. He spent $40 all together. The seller told him that he briefly worked in a comic shop, but he swears that these are the only comics that he has

Another friend scored big after striking out for a very long time at sales. After his Uber shift and an hour sleep he went to the local flea market and found these for $1 each. The Spawn groupings were 50 cents each

This past weekend a man was parting ways with some of his collection at a yard sale for $1 each. At the end I received a bulk discount from the seller

Paid $100 for a Facebook Marketplace lot. Not a crazy deal (lots of condition issues), but some decent old DCs in there, including a couple of Neal Adams covers. I also can't find out much about the romance books, but I know there's a collecting focus there for a lot of people, so I need to do some research.

 

This was the book that made me decide to jump on the lot. Unfortunately it's missing a big chunk of the back cover... But the centerfold is intact, so that's a bonus.

Traveling this weekend, stopped in a Peddlers Mall, picked up a few books. Always loved that Quadrant cover. Lots of cheap coppery goodness. I dug the Sabrina cover too so I figured what the heck. Try to not be too jealous of my Top Dogs, y'all.
