After racing to put my name on the official estate sale list at 1am I’m 10th. I’ve been in my car the whole time and when I come out at 6am there’s a completely different list with my name nowhere on it! Not so cool. (I would have been 25th!). I calmly explain to the estate sale promoter the situation (I show him pics of my name on the original list and my box) and he adds me. Cool. I join a conversation w my friends for a bit only to see my name scribbled off by my competition! (What was he thinking?! Lol). I talk to the promoter once again and he adds my name once again. Cool! (I must be some hot shot threat) lol. I got 225 comics for $375. Less than $2 each as he put it. The promoter helped me out. Stand up guy. Straight shooter.

Just got back from the local antique fair they hold a few times each summer - I've found some great stuff at this show in the past, but it was a huge bust this trip unfortunately. Only a couple of booths with any comics at all, and the one with the most had about four short boxes. We're talking nothing above mid-grade, with stuff like X-men run fillers priced at $20+, a Crisis on Infinite Earths 7 in probably a 3.0 priced at $35, etc. It was strange too because the seller was probably younger than me (I'm 44), and usually when I see crazy priced books in smaller quantities it's an older man or woman who are selling them in addition to other non-comic stuff. This guy had a lot of overpriced loose action figures too.

I know there are others who have gone to these local shows in the past for comics, cards and toys, and it made me think about getting a booth next time and setting up some $1/$2/$3/$4 boxes and a few wall books. It costs somewhere around $150 to be a dealer depending on booth size, location and table rental. Anybody here have any luck/tips/etc. selling at mixed format events like this (a lot of the show is stuff like LPs, tin signs, old Pyrex and other cooking stuff, general "antiques")? Thanks!

More junk shop finds, the Corben and the Heavy Metal were $5 each, the comics $2. Got a bunch of Amazing Heroes and some other odds and ends.

I know @Robot Man has done shows and has chosen things that are priced to attract what I'd guess we might call a "mid-range" buyer who might be looking to spend $20 rather than $200.  I think that's in this thread, but he might come on and correct my recollection.

It's funny, Shark. Everytime I go to a flea market or an antique mall, everything they have is jacked up beyond belief in price.

Very frustrated. Wether it be 90s vg or a smoking hot key they are all 5-10 bucks.
