Oh, a rant about an eBay seller. How trite.

I hate to do this, but I find this kind of behavior very unacceptable, especially from a "well known seller". I only know about this since my dad called me about it very upset, and if it's one thing I can not tolerate, is my dad being upset. For those of you who don't know, my dad and I collect comics together. Some of you guys know him because my dad has bought off of here. I love my dad with all of my heart, and to see anyone treat him that was really tears me up on the inside.

My dad bought some ASM's from this guy in the past, I'd say the last time he got any was March? This exchange happened yesterday, and today:

"mark,

hey! ok the spideys are in......let me know thw #'s again of the following as i remember i had most of them graded for you.......give me the #'s needed and i'll give you grade and price...they graded really high!!

Regards,

Nuff Said Collectibles"

"Randy,

I am not currently buying any more Amazing Spiderman's, as I am concentrating my efforts in another direction. Thanks for thinking of me.

Mark"

"WHAT! YOU TOLD ME YOU WANTED THESE...SO I SENT THEM TO CGC TO BE GRADED FOR YOU! I HAD NO INTENTION ON DOING SO UNLESS YOU NEEDED THEM...YOU NEED TO STICK TO YOUR PROMISE....AS IS SPENT ALOT OF MONEY GRADING THEM ....FOR YOU!" You want my opinion? That was stupid. You should have contacted my dad before hand to see if he was even still collecting ASM's.

"I never commit to this type of thing without knowing what cost will be involved !You need to get better organized in your business and stop blaming others for your shortcomings. It is not right to try to intimidate me this way.You need to grow up.Do not bother me again!"

Right about here is where Kanye would step in and say he's going to let you finish but kryptospideys rant is better

"you have some nerve!! i have only been nice to you. i have given you great books at great prices...and even held things for a period of time to allow you to pay at your convience. i have the email somewhere where you told me the books you wanted and were quite aware of the fact that i was sending them to cgc for YOU! don't worry,,not only will i never "botther" you again, but i will now send this entire story to all others that i know you have done business with. all i can say is you should be ashamed of yourself." No buddy, you haven't. I told my dad months ago to be careful around you.

"I do not have any idea what you are talking about. You have always charged me top dollar for the books you sold me.You have gotten a lot of money from me.You have always rushed me into paying more quickly than I wanted to and overpay for shipping with smaller orders. You have sent me books with old labels without telling me in advance, that I had to resubmit for reholder at more expense. You have not always been nice to me.This is a prime example.I never comitted to any books with you to send in to CGC WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT I WOULD PAY FOR THEM .To do so otherwise would not be economically feasible.Whatever email you fabricate is just that.

I still wish you best future success ."

"F**K OFF individual_without_enough_empathy..........YOU HAVE NOW BEEN BLOCKED FORM MY RECIEVEING ANY OF YOUR STUPID EMAILS....AND FROM EBAY AS WELL........"

That was his last reply. My dad called me pretty shaken up, and I can see why. You sir, should be ashamed of yourself! I would never, NEVER treat anyone that way, especially a customer! I feel bad for posting this, but I feel as though you guys should know.

Seriously though, the guy is a wingnut. It'll be better for your dad in the long run. Sucks to be trated like that though. :(

:o:roflmao:

I didn't even notice the Kanye part! ^^:roflmao:

How old is your dad? Does he have a touch of the alzies?

If the answer is "No" to the 2nd one then the guy is way out of line. But if your dad did send him some sort of want list back in even say March and just forgot then I could see this guy getting a little ticked.

BUT I would never treat a customer like this, you gotta use more tact than this imo.

Excuse me? No. My dad is 59 and is sharper then I am!

I did however log back through his email, and he never sent such a list. I did wonder that at first (I'm sorry if I sound offended but it's a rather personal question to ask). I usually check his email on a daily basis (because I'm a snoop) and I even questioned myself if I would forget something like that. But again, nada!

I think you have a job waiting for you at NSA! :gossip:

If your Dad agreed to buy the books then I can see his frustration, but its obvious from what you have posted your Dad did NOT agree to buy these so if it was me I would just ignore this seller.Hes a clown..

AND the seller stated that they graded high..So whats the beef with your dad? Just sell em to someone else ....ASM hi grade is money in the bank. Not like he got stuck with a bunch of graded drek or something GEEZ.

Also your Dad stated in his email he got" Old labels" instead of new..Is this a bad thing? Not IMO its not.

BTW is this seller a member of these boards? Id like to know so I can avoid them .Please post their board ID.Would be helpful. Some of you may know but I dont.

No need for apologies. I always try to dig a little in stories like these, just because generally there are two sides to every story, and I didn't literally want to know if your dad had some debilitating condition ;-)

I just wanted to make sure that if your dad slipped this guy a list, the guy didn't spend five months cherry picking his purchases and then sent them off to be slabbed and then gets the ol' "Uhm, what are you talking about?" routine.

Do you think it's at all possible that he got your dad confused with another customer? Like maybe similar e-mail addresses or first names or something? This just doesn't seem like something that someone would 100% fabricate. Like maybe he thought he was talking to BaltimareLaurel's dad and not BaltimoreLauren's dad. See what I mean?

Good question, but dare I say my dad has a rather unique email address? I'm not sure of many American's with the name 'Roxette' in their email. But even if it was a case of mistaking identity, wouldn't the seller notice eventually?

You should not feel bad about this at all. You and your dad have done nothing wrong, according to this exchange. It's yet another example of a dealer with no clue how to treat customers. This guy should thank his lucky stars that he deals in an industry where customers allow dealers to treat them so poorly, and think they can behave like jackarses with no consequence.

Here's what this jagoff forgot:

1. You are the CUSTOMER. You have PAID HIS BILLS. The very least he OWES you is common courtesy and decency, NOT hostility and anger. It continues to boggle my mind how many dealers think their CUSTOMERS OWE THEM something. MIND EFFING BOGGLING.

2. He should have gotten a CLEAR agreement, IN WRITING, preferably with a DEPOSIT, before sending anything in to be graded. that's his fault, and if he made the assumption, that's just too damn bad.

3. There is no excuse...none...for swearing at a customer. None. Ever. NEVER.

Sadly, this will never change until ALL customers STOP giving their money to dealers who behave like this. It CAN be done, but only if EVERYONE will do it.

And, unfortunately, "gotta have 'em all" trumps that the vast majority of the time.

I am angry with you, Lauren.

Want list or not, you do NOT spend money "on" a customer without a clear agreement IN WRITING as to the details FIRST.

:o IS this your DAD?

a302roxette.jpg

I loved that song from "Pretty Woman" :kidaround:

Anyway,

Your dad did nothing wrong and the way you know that is from the Seller's first email to him.

The part where he says. I have some of the ones you were interested in "Send me those numbers again and I can give you a price". He doesn't know what you dad wants, didn't give him a price ahead of time, didn't have a confirmed deal at ANY TIME.

I mean what if your Dad said, "sure send me a price list and I will let you know" and then declined them all based on price? Would this lunatic still be angry?

He had no deal with your Dad, a rough want list doesn't equate to a contract.

If I told you "Hey I love your house I would love to get one like it someday" doesn't mean I have entered into a contract to buy your house and you should move out immediately.

Some people need to stay away from other people and this seller is one of them.

Best,

Chris

Well if he seems to think that he has a deal struck with someone, then obviously he didn't just make it up unless he's been sitting around smoking dope for the last month non-stop.

Or at least I'd think he didn't just make it up. It's possible he saved your dad's e-mail address in a address book and mislabeled it. Like if you saved mine under Bob Jones you might just see Bob Jones in your address book instead of my e-mail address.

I'd still call him.
