I have Ginger 1 sitting right here, actually! Just goes to show how interchangeable these Archie girls are. lotemo
Me too. That's the cover to Ginger #1 redrawn to be Betty rather than Ginger. I know. I have Ginger 1 sitting right here, actually! Just goes to show how interchangeable these Archie girls are. Here's another example of interchangeability. I don't think I posted this before but here is a Betty pinup from Archie #47 and a Katy Keene pinup from Katy Keene #10. I love that the Katy Keene pinup idea is attributed to a reader. Looks like comic book plagiarism.

kidcolt
I am a big fan of Archie titles from 1960-2000, some of the artwork in the early ones are creepy.
lotemo
I love the "creepy" crudeness of many of the early issues. I enjoy seeing the evolution of the characters through the decades.
BaltimoreLauren
It's not really creepy, just realistic. Majority of GA books have similar realistic art.
kidcolt
I love how they seemed to push the envelope in the 60's & 70's, they have gone really PG over the past 20 years.
143ksk
If you want to see "realistic" GA Archie art, you should check out the few B&V stories that Irv Novick drew. He was about 60 years ahead of the "new look" stories. Oh, and here are some books to look at
BaltimoreLauren
If you want to see "realistic" GA Archie art, you should check out the few B&V stories that Irv Novick drew. He was about 60 years ahead of the "new look" stories. I have both of those books as well! Anyhow, yes, I'm familiar with how the characters evolved over the years very well. When I heard about the "new look" I laughed and thought "Are they going back to the house style of the 40's?"
