Wall-Crawler
DC Comics Presents #22 There are approximately 3 to 5 known copies to exist. I believe one of these belonged to Bellerules1, another belonged to Doug Sulipa and the 1st to emerge on the scene was on the STL forums. This copy is only the 4th copy I am aware of. Here's a picture. Add to your summary that peterpark snagged a copy from a seller here on the boards So including yours, at least 5 have been brought to light! I was that seller. Bit of "seller's remorse" with something so rare, but Peterpark was a good and fair dude to deal with. Plus, I don't collect Whitman's and I was glad it went to a good home. ...Also, not sure if this was captured already there was a recent DC Presents #22 Whitman sale on eBay not all that long ago: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/DC-COMICS-PRESENTS-22-SUPER-RARE-WHITMAN-VARIANT-DCCP-SUPERMAN-/151144492174?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item2330e9ec8e I finally got through (I think) cataloguing most of my (non-DC) Whitmans and this is what I have... Adam 12 #8 Battle of the Planets #6 (x3), 8, 10 Beagle Boys vs Uncle Scrooge #11 Beep Beep The Road Runner #76, 90, 91(I know this is a good one), 94, 96, 99, 100 Beetle Bailey #132 (x2) Brother Spear #1 Boris Karloff #69, 70, 76, 87 Buck Rogers #7 (x5), #11 (x4) Bugs Bunny #222, 224 Chip N Dale #24, 57, 64, 70 Daffy Duck #129, 134, 136, 141 Daisy and Donald #13, 44, 48 (x2), Daggar #9 Doctor Solar #29 Donald Duck #215, 220, 240 Flash Gordon #27, 28 (x6), 29 (x4), 35 Grimm Ghost Stories #32 (x4), 55 (x2), 59, 60 (x2) Heckle and Jeckle #26 Lone Ranger #26 (x3) Hewey, Dewey, Louie #61, 63 (x2), 64, 71, 74 Looney Tunes #36 Lost in Space #57 Mickey Mouse #207, 214 O.G. Whiz #11 Pink Panther #74, 75, 82 Popeye #162 Porky Pig #94, 95, 96, 98, 100 Ripley's Believe it or Not #64 (x2), 69 Shroud Mystery #1 Star Trek #39, 40 Super Goof #57, 59 (x2), 61 (at CGC, should be back early in New Year), 66 Tom and Jerry #329, 333, 334, 341 Tragg #4 (x3), 6 Turok #119 (x2), 128, 130 Tweety and Sylvester #101, 104, 108, 115 Twilight Zone #68 (x2), 92 Uncle Scrooge #177, 178, 183, 184 Walt Disney Comics and Stories #3 (vol. 3?), #476 (x2), 478,479, 486, 492, 499 Walt Disney Showcase Pluto #33 Winnie the Pooh #17, 18, 19 Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny #66 (x2), 67, 71 I am still finding it a bit daunting to learn what is "scarce" or "scarcest" other than a few obvious ones though...Now that I have them catalogued, time to do some research...In the meantime, anything interesting??? All these comics on your list are interesting due to scarcity in high grades: Battle of the Planets 8 Road Runner 91 Bugs Bunny 222 Daffy Duck 129 Mickey Mouse 207 Pink Panther 75 Porky Pig 98 Super Goof 61 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories 479 I got my list of scarce Whitman's from DOUG SULIPA'S comic site (http://www.dougcomicworld.com/INVENTORY-WhitmanComicsSite.html.) The site can be a bear to read, but it is full of good information concerning the scarcest 68 Whitman's. Edited December 29, 2013 by rjrjr

jaja-mon12
I don't use GPA and was curious to find out what were some of the biggest Whitman sales of 2013? I was searching in Google and found these two: Uncle Scrooge #179 CGC 9.6 - $3,350? Black Hole #4 CGC 9.8 - $2,634 in June 2013 Are there any other sales that have come close to these recently? If so, the Whitman appreciation thread may get a lot busier for 2014! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! (thumbs u

Number 6
I don't know how many saw this since it wasn't up for very long so I thought I'd post it here. Uncle Scrooge 179 sealed pre-pack. The buyer didn't even mess around with the Best Offer option.
bellrules
That was pretty neat. Funny how the Canadian packs have two books while the American ones tend to have three

mttemp
This is what is on its way to me from Canada. I do not know whether to open it or grade it and add it to my set. What would you do Bellerules? This is so very rare un-opened. I can find higher grade than these to have graded but I could never find this in 20 years I think. Oh I also have a Whitman Black Hole #4 9.8 coming to me ! I AM IN WHITMAN HEAVEN !! Edited February 22, 2014 by mttemp
mttemp
It worked thanks! The other book in this Canadian two pack is Huey Dewey louie 65 . I am still in shock that I own this.
bellrules
Congrats. Nice score. I'd leave it in the bag. Not the highest grade as the do have some spine ticks next to the staples, bit so rare to find still sealed. Have only seen another sealed example before, and it was a 3 pack. I suspect 3 packs were for the US and the 2 packs were for Canada.

They're in nice enough condition - both the books and the bag - that they're an excellent example of a sealed specimen. Congrats on the pick-up! mttemp
Thank you number six I think I will leave them sealed the books are about 8.0 but that is high for a whitman.

mttemp
Thanks jaja I am not going to open it. It is a very low distribution of a pack from Canada. I may trade it for the CGC graded books one day if someone wants this extreamly rare un opened two pack.
