Who's got the best November Auction?

49 posts in this topic

comicconnect's auction is pretty weak. Admittedly, I haven't looked through the whole thing, but that's in part because I made it through several hundred lots without seeing anything worthwhile. The Captain America 100 in 7.0 trimmed was surprising. That's what constitutes an "Event" auction?

The following books were added to the auction today: (scans will appear in a few hours)

DETECTIVE COMICS -------------------------------------------------------

27 VF-

(CGC crm/ow pgs Slight(P); 1st Batman by Bob Kane)

:o Oh my, I find this much more exciting than the recent Action #1's you guys sold.

And ComicConnect's auction is the last to end.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm going to be living in tent city (no disrespect to those in hardship) with all the other auctions already having ended by then.

already there and no, it is not Krzyzewskiville

I'm only going to view the Heritage auction. I just recieved their catalog today. I showed my wife the book she is going to buy me. She thought I was joking. The truth will come out if/when I win that bad boy! :)

I can't tell you who has the best auction...but I can tell you with some certainty that in these times of abundant supply being released into the market in the form of no reserve auctions, a couple of really nice books are going to slip through the cracks and go pretty cheap. :wishluck:

Already got a few with Mound City, hoping to repeat my success with the other auctions this month. (thumbs u

The sellers are looking for Christmas money and the buyers Christmas presents. should be good. (thumbs u

I always found Christmas to bring strong prices on books (on eBay anyway) because people seem to have Christmas bonuses to spend.

It'll be a fun watch.

Detective 31 VF-

(CGC ow/white pgs Slight(P); classic Batman over castle cover 1st Batplane.)

Slight resto. Could be a bargain if the PLOD-haters stay away.

It's not listed here, but the Larson Action #32 that was recently listed is a very cool book. (thumbs u

Surprised to see my former copy at auction so soon :o Still looks great seeing it

CLink's got Marvel Comics #1, Superman #1, Batman #1 and All Star #8, along with 2 Detective #11s and quite a few Schomburg war covers from various publishers. Not to mention quite a few options for those of us with an interest in Golden Age comics but with a much smaller budget than many GA collectors on the boards...

Obama needs to crack down & regulate these comic auctions. Too many greedy auctions preying on the poor.
