Modern artists like Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld (I know they're older, but still very popular) can't draw a face without gritting teeth, clenching, or an open faced yell. When you're in a fight, that's often not the case. I suppose they justify it by calling it "dynamic", but the tension in this cover is more palpable.
