Dr. Love
Ran into this one while organizing tonight. I don't believe I've ever shared it - That's a nice copy to run into. Looks great. +1 a little roll - staples slightly off the spine - really works well with the 52 pagers 1950's war comics
Scrooge
Thanks guys. I am quite happy with the copy of course. It was in an unsorted stack alongside my copy of # 21 (unscanned until now) - These books tend to have a one panel splash page to start the stories. That's fun -

Dr. Love
According to Japanese legend, a young man named Sen no Rikyu sought to learn the elaborate set of customs known as the Way of Tea. He went to tea-master Takeeno Joo, who tested the younger man by asking him to tend the garden. Rikyu cleaned up debris and raked the ground until it was perfect, then scrutinized the immaculate garden. Before presenting his work to the master, he shook a cherry tree, causing a few flowers to spill randomly onto the ground. To this day, the Japanese revere Rikyu as one who understood to his very core a deep cultural thread known as wabi-sabi: the art of imperfection. 1950's war comics

Scrooge
Exactly, THIS (also from that unsorted pile) - leads to THAT, which we don't wish on anyone. Yucky photo-cover western.
Scrooge
The good thing about DC is that it didn't dilute its Western offering with too many titles. Early on, Western Comics was essentially it aside from a few licensed properties: Jimmy Wakely and Dale Evans only come to mind right now. All-American Western and All-Star Western were added later and even if you consider Tomahawk in there as well, the DC Western stable still was not very crowded.
