Ian's thread is a treasure trove of images!

Here's the Remco Warlord book - apparently this is the only one anyone's ever seen, as it is supposed to not exist. This might be the winner.

Was this the winner? (shrug) How does one price a book like this?

Any way one wants.

lol pretty much.

Supply is very small. How is demand for this comic?

Isn't there only one known copy? Is this still true, donut?

World War 3 Illustrated #1 (1980) is magazine size, it doesn't show up much. I finally got a copy, it's only the 2nd one I've seen for sale in the last couple years.

I had never heard of that mag until just now. I looked it up on eBay, looks like a fairly long running title. No #1 of course, but it looks interesting. What kind of content was in it? Based on the covers it gives me the impression it was something like RAW

Yes, I was always surprised that it's never referred to or mention for having such a long run (over time and many issues). But I was reluctant to mention it until I was able to find a copy of #1 myself. I believe around 3 years ago or so I put a post in the "want" forum here but never got a response. I believe that each issue has it's own political theme. It's a comic book (magazine size, but all art/graphic) and the 1st issue had I believe an an anti-war theme. It's definitely got an "arty" Underground appearance, with multiple stories by different artists (comes out of N.Y.). You can find two graphic novels easily on amazon for cheap that I think is a compilation of some of the stories (one blue http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1568580398/qid=1127275569/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-6909134-4459012?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 , one black with green http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1560970022/qid=1127275569/sr=8-2/ref=pd_bbs_2/103-6909134-4459012?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 ). #1 came out in 1980, #39 came out in 2009, that a hell of a long run (but a long time between issues). Don't know if there were more after, but 30 years and yet it's never discussed here...

I just looked, the current issue is #43 (May or July 2012), that's got to be one of the longer running independant comics series.

WW3 #1 has an incredibly crude ( in execution not content) Peter Bagge story. I recall reading an interview with him ( forget where - probably Comics Journal) and he conveniently forgot about this contribution when discussing his earliest published work - I think it may be his first published piece in a regular format comic ( non-tabloid) - I'd have to dig it out of the boxes but I think it has a late 70s date on it - so it may have been published in Punk first.
