In college football, skill and preparation and execution can offset luck , most of the time (thumbs u

And a great QB helps.

The days of pounding and grinding the ball are over. You're going to see Gus's O copied and mimic'd. Gus M (who started in Springdale, AR...just north of me) finally figured out that the more plays I can run, the better my chances to win.

Also being able to pay off the cops is handy.

Maybe I'm naive, but I would be shocked if this happened.

Is is just a disaster to buy a book with brittle pages ?

a key / mega key ?

To be honest depends on the book. There was a brittle paged action 1 mastro auctioned a few years ago that they had videoed and the pages looked decent. Was only one corner that was "brittle". In a case like that I would buy.

Now if the pages as a whole are disintegrating, then I would pass

I don't blame you... worst output in about 10 years for me (except one game a few years ago I only scored 4).... I just didn't "feel" it lol

Gator, as you and every one else knows, there is a captain America 1 cgc 1.8 on ebay, this book seems relatively reasonable priced, is that because of the cover staining? How much does this knock the book down in your opinion or others? At least It doesn't have brittle pages, thx you

I think more and more folks want the most eye appeal they can get, especially on a five figure book. Obviously the lack of strong eye appeal hurts that copy

Hi there Gator!

You're obviously The Man on here, what with your very own thread and nearly 350 pages! Wow. Mind if I ask you what the FMV on an All Star 3 would be in a 6-7 range in your opinion? I have a buddy with a copy I'm looking at and I'm new to the GA aspect of collecting so an assist from a dealer's point of view would be much appreciated.

Warm regards, and thank you in advance.

A 6.0 would be in the 8-9k retail range...maybe 10k

A 6.5 likely 10-12

A 7.0 likely 15k range

Depends on eye appeal and pq etc.

Thanks Gator that's super advice, and very glad I asked. I notice those prices are quite a bit below guide even. I'm taking it that the book is soft right now? PQ OW/W by the way.
