Dear Gator,

If you owned the Church Action #1 or the Allentown Tec 27, would you have them professionally graded? Why or why not?

I would, just for the 3rd party opinion...

What are some of the rarest comics you have ever owned?

Gators current Centaur collection is pretty rare (worship)

Yep. Amazing man 26, funny pages 40, amf1/4, star 3, comic pages 3/5, cowboy comics 14, Stars and Stripes 6/5

My guess is 5-10 or so of each are likely out there

Follow up question...

Are there any comics out there that you have never seen but are known to exist?

Not that I'm aware of. Pretty much seen them all (though haven't owned them all)

Have you ever actually seen a STUNTMAN #3?

mm

just a picture

Does anyone have an actual copy?

mm

Heritage sold this copy back in 2003. I've never seen a copy in person.

This copy sold for $155, I would guess it would sell for considerably more now.

Dear Gator,

Am I doomed to never be able to own a copy of AF15? With how fast the value for them climbs will it eventually become next to impossible for the average collector to own one, unless they find a grandma selling comics at a yard sale? I did a quick napkin estimate of the value for part of my collection,( a few grand shy of 20k) and realized that even if I got that amount for it that I would still only be able to afford a bear up copy, and not be able to replace a lot of what I sold since most of it is OA.

So basically is it still possible to save up enough faster for a decent copy that has restoration to it which cost a fraction of a universal copy faster then than its appreciation in value at the current indication? The amount I would be saving up is around 8-10k.

He had the Boy Explorers one last November ..... those were from a handful that were in the Harvey warehouse find. He mentioned that CGC wouldn't certify it, even though it had provenance right back to Geppi..... not exactly sure why. GOD BLESS...

I have a Boy Explorers 2 that's slabbed, but I think you are right that CGC stopped grading them because they are black and white and forgeries are apparently difficult to detect.

Not sure. I would have to dig it out to check. I think it's the most common of the four (I think it was four) of these issues that Harvey produced.

8-10k should still get a decent 2.0-2.5 copy. Go for it. The rise will stall a bit at somepoint

Before it takes two steps forward again

I'm sure you would have a lot of buyers for a nice 2.5 in that price range Gator
