How does this happen

In regards to this PARTICULAR book, a person in my area slabbed a short box of these a couple of years ago which accounted for dozens of new 9.8s entering the marketplace.

At the time, the price for these were around $100 per 9.8 I think.

Being a "Noob" and a complete dope are totally different.

Gee I wonder which one the OP appears to be. :eyeroll:

There are never stupid questions, just stupid people who ask them.

As for your last paragraph...absolutely laughable. You should grow up.

I don't know about you but I think asking why auction prices fluctuate in a free market is pretty obvious. Quality, supply, demand...

...and besides, nobody explained why the Wii remote was at two different prices. I'm the one that should be offended here.

:frustrated:

Maybe the OP should have phrased the question a little tighter.

I'm going to guess the idea he was trying to get at is this: IF CGC graded comics should be considered commodities for the purposes of buying/selling. And IF they are commodities, what percentage price fluctuation can be considered within an "acceptable" range and if such comics should trade like the stock market.

Should CGC pricing reflect an efficient market? Probably not, I think several have answered showing that comics pricing isn't efficient (auction close times, seller feedback), that the "commodities" themselves are not equivalent (all CGC 9.8s are not created equal) and so on.

You should grow up.

I'll grow up if you promise to beg, borrow or steal a sense of humor.

And you have a sense of humor?

Whoah. Color me Christmas. Another one.

It's nice to see that the CGC Charm School is on its best behavior for Christmas. :eyeroll:
