I can't believe they can't come up with anything original.

Yeah. Like the House of Idea. hm

or the house of no idea...., or the house of only a couple of old recycled ideas....or the house of movies that suck.

Other than the Superman movie, I can't think of a DC movie that's sucked since the Batman and Robin movie in '97. hm

Because they have all been Batman movies.

Unless you take in to account the losers, Watchmen, hex..

But that's if you think they suck.

I thought Watchmen was great. I've not seen Hex, but it does look like it sucks.

Any movie with Megan Fox is going to suck lol:insane:

Which is ironic because that's probably how she got cast in the movie. hm

Good actor and all but I just don't think he has the look.

That's an odd comment given that he looks just about EXACTLY like the drawn pic of Zod on the right.

(shrug) You think? I'm just not feeling it and I thought the first rumor of Viggo Mortensen was perfect.

I agree with what FF said.

C'mon, the guy's been around for almost 75 years.

If only one quality villain came around every 10 years, you should at least be able to name 7 or 8 right off the bat.

I sort of get having Lex Luthor be a main villain in many movies. I mean, he's been around the longest, and is constantly pitted against Superman in the comics. But I'd like to see other villains for a different take.

What about:

1) Brainiac

2) Doomsday

3) Titano (the giant ape could work if you did a 1940's style Superman movie)

4) Bizarro (granted, that was sort of what Superman IV was)

5) Darkseid (w/ Bruno Mannheim as a human mob villain)

6) Blaze/Satanus

7) Eradicator

8) Cyborg Superman

9) Intergang (again, as a period piece of Superman vs. crime/mob)

10) Metallo/Kryptonite Man

11) Lobo

12) Mr. Mxyztplk

13) Mongul

14) Parasite

15) Prankster

16) Silver Banshee

In other words, it's pretty much limited to Luthor. hm

Only 1, 2, 5, and maybe 7 deserve top billing in a movie with superman. I won't count Mongul because thats pretty much darkseid light.

I also don't get why Lex Luthor always has to go one-on-one with Superman. Why couldn't he be a behind the scenes villain, in a recurring role, that Superman can't quite get the proof that he's more than a sleazy businessman. That way, you could have a series of films, with Luthor bankrolling Metallo, creating Bizarro, letting loose Parasite, etc. We don't need a "top billed" villain to fight it out with Superman in every scene, but instead a never-ending fight with lesser villains, being controlled/manipulated by someone larger.

I think if somebody wanted to make something really epic, they could do the "Death Of Superman" story line (or something similar to it...obvously rewritten for the screen). There would be tons of action and characters. It could be epic, and filmed as a multi part sequel like Lord Of The Rings was.

There's 70 years worth of material and they just keep rehashing two stories. :screwy:

And seriously. The evil genius mastermind businessman Lex Luthor has more going on than real estate investments...
