MrBedrock
Yeah, I had a supposed "Indian Reservation" copy of Flash 19 that miraculously had some color touch. I bought it right from Gary Carter who bouhgt it "right from the reservation". Incidentially Gary didn't tell that the Chief must have been sitting sround one afternoon, just bored, and had nothing better to do than color touch the Flash!! I bought an "Indian Reservation" copy of Action 26 from Gary at San Diego in 1981. Got the whole story from him. How he advertised in Albuquerque laundromats. How the Indians showed up in a pick-up with a camper full of comics. How they said they stored them in a cave in the dessert. It all sounded so cool. And the book was incredibly beautiful. The only problem - I found out from the guy I sold it to that the Action was the Mile High.
sacentaur
The only problem - I found out from the guy I sold it to that the Action was the Mile High. Remember my "Indian Reservation" All-American 20, Rich? Bone white pages. Even smells like a Mile High. CGC had it for a month, but wouldn't certify it as such (and I don't blame them, reasonable doubt, they made the call that they had to make). Verzyl now claims to know where the missing Church AA 20 is, but no other details forthcoming. All I know is that he went balls out to buy the book from me for years... I wonder why? clarkkentdds
West, I'm sure you've talked to Redbeard about this collection (and many many others). As you know, he is a wealth of knowledge on the early distribution of the best pedigrees. I'd love to get him to the boards to document the history. Timely
Metropolis has 3 Sensations (52, 60 and 61) they list as San Franciscos. Those books are too far past the 1945 cut off date to be SF copies.
Timely
Beerbohm (I know) has Big Shot 35, 36, and 43 up on ebay that he is claiming to be "Tom Reilly" copies. Beerbolm has many books listed as Tom Reily books. Unfortunately most of them look really wrong. Some are brittle, some have color touch and most show none of the correct arrival dates or stamps. Only 1 of them looks correct & I added it to the list a while back.

It's possible, but it's odd to me that the date stamp is the same date as the cover date of issue. It's certainly possible that it is a Reilly though. Check out the Bat 21 that he's selling as a Reilly. I'm inclined to believe the one posted here a day or two ago is the actual Frisco

I'm inclined to believe the one posted here a day or two ago is the actual Frisco I should probably clarify that the reason the date stamp (arrival date) seems odd to me, is that most Reilly's that I've seen that have an arrival date stamp, the date stamp is usually 2 months prior to the cover date. In point of fact, I think pretty much every such book posted in this thread supports that theory. I'm no expert, by any means, but I've yet to see a Reilly book where the arrival date stamp and cover date match.
Frisco Larson
As I mentioned in the past, I have been keeping track of the San Francisco books since 1991. Any sale of a book, listing of a book or collector who told me he had a specific issue I have cataloged. So, below is a list of all the San Francisco Copies I have tracked over the last 21 years. That list consists of only 250 books. I am sure many more must exist that I do not know of, but here is the list none-the-less. If anyone can confirm the existance of any San Francisco's not on this list please send me a PM or list them in this thread so I can add them to the list. Thanks!
