I am flying in early just to go to the Carnegie Deli.

Only tourists go to Carnegie... New Yawkers go to Katz. Just saying....

I'm a tourist when I go to NY and I don't like either one.

^^

Look out, I'm in agreement with you. Although Ill take Carnegie over that disaster Katz any day

2 more weeks to go

For those still scrounging for tickets, the retail stores still have some tickets left. Midtown Comics is still indicating they have a few 4 day passes. It's better to buy the 4 day pass from Midtown than to pay more for a single day pass from scalpers.

The NYCC website shows which retailers still have tickets.

Cheers!

N.

i'm very torn on this. i really do not have the money to go with the roof work i need to get done, though i can probably borrow a buddy's weekend pass for a day, maybe take my kid(s) on sunday kids day and try and not spend money (or limit myself to $50 or something, which will be very very hard), maybe bring a knapsack of books for autographs or something like that.

otoh, if my 7 y.o. realizes we did not go, after having gone the last 2 years, he might kill me in my sleep

my favorite Pastrami!

http://www.sargesdeli.com/

I ate there last year and found the service way below average. The restaurant was empty, but the host ignored me. The waiter was new and incompetent. I had to ask several times for silverware and for the waiter to take my order. I ate breakfast and asked for the toast dry (without butter), but the waiter brought me buttered toast. I am going to eat at some other places this year and definitely not Sarge's Deli. I have had pastrami and chopped liver here, but for me definitely nothing spectacular.

I have eaten in many hole-in-the-wall places all over the world, but the service here was among the worst.
