ugh... i knew that midtown was going to put up the Bats 40 combo packs up for sale while i was out scavenging at flea markets and i was going to miss out... at least i found a copy of Invincible #1 1st print for .50 cents...

Has anyone read or looked through Batman 40?

 

 

Doesn't look like he or joker died to me. I see the two of them laying there with the bat cave collapsing on them.

I thought the same thing,

was kinda left open to interpretation. It wasn't like DKR 3 & 4 where there was no doubt the Joker was dead

 

 

Or like killing joke where it wasnt until 30 years later that we found out he died

I saw no Valiants on the major dealers wall books

 

I only found post unity in the cheap bins like normal and the only keys I picked up were two Rai 0s for $10 each

 

To echo Hector I saw 1 dealer with Valiant wall books -- a Harbinger #1 w/o coupons and creased/tore and a Harbinger #2 as well.

 

I found a box of Valiants at another dealer with everything "key" missing except for BS #7 (which is a stretch).

 

I wondered if there was a Valiant shortage at this show because:

 

1. No one brings them anymore

2. No one heard of the news

3. They were brought but picked by the time I got there (as in the case of the 1 long box)

 

I did some digging at C2E2 and found these Pre-Unity Valiant comics.The Solar 3 and Harbinger 3 were on a wall the rest in boxes.

I saw zero Eternal Warrior 4 or Rai 0s. One dealer said his boss told him to bring any key Valiants out of backstock only to realize they had hardly any.

A few dealers mentioned the Bloodshot/Harbinger movie news and seemed interested/excited.

I wonder if you got to those before me or if I overlooked them. I did see the early Harbingers at Zapps; almost bought the #1 but there was a decent-sized defect on the cover.

 

Very sad about the Magnus #12; still don't have a copy of that one.

 

I picked the the Harbinger 3 and Solar 3 from Zapps Friday afternoon. A dealer on the other side of them had a long box full of Valiants with some decent stuff.

I pulled out the Solar 5s and some MRF from there. They also had some Valiant Nintendo books. On Sunday I went back and grabbed the Nintendo Comics System Sneak Preview they had up on the wall.

It was a brilliant issue, no matter how you see the end.

The whole run was very well executed no pun intended.. I wonder how this will go down in Bats history, there are alot of clear jabs at TDKR but it certainly stands out on its own
