Venom #26. Microverse crossover nonsense.

 

Babies vs. X-Babies #1. Eh….what?

 

Amazing Spider-Man #696. Two Hobgoblins and the Kingpin still can’t make this interesting.

 

AVX Consequences 3# & #4. Slow burners.

 

Captain America #19. A trip down memory lane, including a cameo from Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.

 

Captain America & Black Widow #638. Cap and two Widows in the Multiverse.

 

FF #23. Disappointing.

 

Incredible Hulk #15. Not so incredible.

 

Invincible Iron Man #527. A great read.

 

JIM #645. Pretty to look at, difficult to read – use a more legible font!

 

Secret Avengers #33. The Avengers of the Undead and Venom and Val get it on – super!

 

Ultimates #17. President Cap and Civil War.

 

A + X #1. An intriguing team-up book.

 

Avenging Spider-Man Annual #1. Spidey, the Thing and the FF bratz get all meaningless and shouty.

 

The Mighty Thor #22. Not so mighty or interesting.

 

Ultimate Comics #16.1: Excellent! The exact opposite of what ASM is – well written with interesting characters, and with art that promotes the story and not make your eyes bleed.

 

Ultimate X-Men #18: Ultimate blah!

 

Winter Soldier #12. Ponderous.

#408 - 411 - Total Recall #1-4 ..... Sequel to the movie, starts off with an interesting and enjoyable 1st issue and goes down hill rather quickly after that. Very dissapointing.

Alan, what did you think of Rachel Rising?

 

I am glad I had the 12 issues to read in one go as I would have probably stopped after the first 2. It was a little too soap-opera for my taste, but after issue #3 or #4 I was hooked and really enjoyed it.

I guess it draws you in slowly, and each issue explains a little more of the supernatural forces at work making you want to read the next book as it never satisfies your hunger.

The premise is far from original, and at first I though "Great another spin on TWD"... but the characterization was superb and you really start to empathize with the protagonists.

Aquaman #13: Scrappy.

 

Detective Annual: Batman fights some really dumb villains.

 

Green Lantern Annual: The Guardians go mad.

 

Just League International Annual: Dire.

 

Superman Annual: Emo Superman and art so bad it made the back of my head bleed.

 

The Flash Annual: Dull.

 

Justice League Dark Annual: Mildly interesting.

 

Swamp Thing Annual: A trip down memory lane for Alec Holland and a homage to Dracula.

 

Action Comics Annual: Dull.

 

Batgirl Annual: A guest appearance from Catwoman’s bust.

After the first couple of issues I was hoping for some kind of story arc! It just never turned up.

I didn't quit reading, but I DID quit posting. Got busy in the spring and online stuff kind of fell away for quite a while. I'm on vacation this week, and I'm trying to compile a list of everything I can document reading over the summer and fall. FUN!
