Wish I had been able to buy more MARVEL MYSTERY'S but the magazine

rack in the store that had them was behind the pinball machine and it was

always hard to get to the books through the crowd. Here's one that I was able to get.

I can't even imagine buying Timelys "off the rack". I'd be more than happy to elbow the big guys for those Marty!

It was Newark in the 40's...you didn't "elbow" Wise Guys.

There was no organization...they were just lined up in a row with a cord across

the middle to hold them up on the wall...as I remember there were four or five

rows about six feet wide.

As for other newsrooms...I don't think they were ever really grouped by publisher.

Only for the rack at W.T. GRANTS...these were all DELL'S.

How many copies of each issue did they usually have?

Most times, in these newsrooms, usually only one or two copies and they would be

all mixed up...you really had to dig through them to find something you wanted.

Ever since I had to upgrade my browser for flickr, I've had problems sharing scans...

as soon as I can figure out the "codes" I'll be back in business!

What was the earliest Timely you remember buying?

Did you trade comics with your friends? Did they have any nice collections?

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for asking...my first TIMELY was ALL WINNERS #4 which was the FIRST

comic book I ever bought.

As far as trading comics, we never did...we would sit on the stoop and read each others

comics, but at the end of the day you took your our books home.

As far as their collections, they were always nice...just not ones that I bought.
