Either way, you were still right in the sense the giving was supposed to be the fun part not the taking.

There is no doubt that lack of care and/or generosity has been and is the problem of the thread crisis – I was not implying it wasn’t.

 

Hey, if it wasn’t for these pesky postal rates I would have donated a ton of books, which was also the initial intent of the thread, but they are what they are… :P

Since I was interested and I thought it would shine some light on the original intent of the thread - the first 10 offers which were accepted were as follows:

I did see Claudio started posting on Page 16 so he has to be an OG on this thread.

 

If you compare these 10 offers to the last 10 offers you will definitely see an upward trend in terms of offers.

Not to say, but aside from what 1Cool has just posted, the atmosphere was a lot more relaxed, even when there were discussions. Just check how Guy and Liam talked about the former's offer here (in 2012):

I was starting to question my memory when Swick insisted about the generosity: of course it is great, and we know it has been its abuse to make things problematic, but in the end this was always a trade thread with some generosity added by free will.
