I was tempted to pick the raw moderns but after seeing the way these new Marvel series are written, I would have been curious about the Inhumans alone.

Aside from this, I find completely inconsistent what they are doing with Secret Wars, and most of the independent moderns I have read did not satisfy me, so I’m done for…

well those raws are somewhat in demand but thats a pretty weak offer right now. It looked better in my mind as I was looking through my camera roll, I'll bump it up and add more soon.

I don't think it has anything to do with the offers. I just don't think people want anything to do with this thread or supporting it.

 

It is the same small group of people claiming things and throwing out offers. You guys could start a group PM thread and have the same results.

Yes, it doesn’t make much sense to complain about something you deem irrelevant or you don’t care about, that’s why I criticized JAM_NYC initial post.

 

I see that "Pay it forward" in english is "an expression for describing the beneficiary of a good deed repaying it to others instead of to the original benefactor". This does not mean it's not a trading thread, it simply means it has been started by someone who gifted something at the beginning (as it happened when KPR introduced a new offer), but it remains a trade.

The rest, it’s obvious, depends on having enough generosity to give something of interest, but that’s all.

 

We know the stalling has been caused by abuse, but in this case, while Bird offers are varied, interesting and some great, I have no personal interest in picking one. :shrug: It’s not a problem of "the same people", it’s also a question of coincidences as well as number of participants.

Let me clarify something for you, Claudio. I USED to check this thread (and TGT thread) out as someone who wanted to participate. I had a few offers ready to go, and I would check in regularly, waiting to pounce on an offer I liked. Instead, I noticed it turned into a dumping ground for people to unload the excess drek from their bulk purchases, or a place to get rid of books that didn't sell in their selling thread. Someone once said that the stuff you offer up should hurt a little, that it should be stuff you wouldn't WANT to give away. I just don't see that anymore. If I had a nickel every time someone followed up their lame offering with some variation of "that's the best I can do", I'd be swimming in AF 15's like Scrooge McDuck.

 

So why do I still check in? Because this thread has turned into midget porn. Not something I actively seek out, but since it's the first thing I see when I log in, I'll tune in and watch the hilarity. But you know what really cracks me up? It's the fact that the same people that destroyed this thread, and spawned a drama filled complimentary discussion thread, are now playing the victims. Riiiight, guys like Harvey and myself are trolls and haters.

I think that this was already understandable to some degree, and I understand the need to affirm it, but it has already been done, and so many times.

I just think that if one just does not like it as it is now it doesn’t make much sense to comment.

I feel bad for you Bird - very nice offers and you have definitely put a lot of effort in putting up a large mix of books and OA. This thread has always bordered on being more work then it is fun but its officially jumped into the not fun column.
