I read about that toolbag in Canada.....insta-block!!!

I'm sure slabs get destroyed as well, but it takes a bit more impact and injury to accomplish that....it is a slab after all.

In all honesty: there are raws that are packaged so well that I'm afraid of damaging them while unpacking. They're layered in so much bubble wrap and tape that it takes a bomb squad and a surgeon to unearth it.

I've caught myself cursing at the parcel at times...ROFL! Well, I guess that's better than the polar opposite.....the comic hastily thrown into a manilla envelope with "do not bend" written on the package... lol

Do you recall his name?

his name is guerrierhabs

http://www.ebay.com/sch/guerrierhabs/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

Look at his feedback left for others or read about him in the general forum.

He buys slabs and finds something wrong with them, and then wants some form of compensation in return.

Meanwhile, if you look at his listings, he points out that he doesn't take returns on CGC graded books. Oh the hypocrisy.

This is written at the beginning of every listing he makes:

FRAUDULENT EBAYERS WILL BE REPORTED TO EBAY AS WELL AS PAYPAL AND THE AUTHORITIES OF MY CITY AND THE BUYER'S CITY. EVEN FOR 20$ I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST ANYONE, IN THE CANADA OR U.S. AS I ONLY SHIP TO NORTH-AMERICA. I TAKE PICTURES OF THE ITEM BEFORE AND DURING THE PACKAGING AND I KEEP THE PICTURES TO MYSELF IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG. I ALWAYS SHIP WITH INSURANCE AND TRACKING SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHERE THE PACKAGE IS AT ALL TIMES. NO ONE HAS EVER GOTTEN AWAY WITH FRAUD ON ME. I KNOW EVERY TRICK IN THE BOOK. 1ST TIME EBAYERS AND THE ONES WITH LESS THAN 10 TRANSACTIONS NEED TO CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING OR I WILL CANCEL THEIR BID. I DO NOT SHIP OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA. I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS ON CGC ITEMS SINCE THEY ARE GUARANTEED BY CGC. PERIOD.

who would want to deal with this clown?

what do you mean? he's 100% for over 200 transactions, that's not easy to do....

I ask myself this all the time. Problem is, not many people on the bay or elsewhere are willing to pay much of a premium for a raw book you say is a 9.8. Even if it's blatantly clear that it is.

I disagree. If the seller makes a claim that the book is a 9.8 grade in the title and description of his auction and he has any sort of history on ebay with feedback to back up his grading abilities then someone will pay a premium for it. Obviously it depends on the book and the market at the time. Look at issues of the last of us, a seller on ebay was moving nm/m copies for 45 dollars, nm copies have been selling for around 30.

I hear ya. I post super clear scans back and front of books I claim to be 9.8-or most books I sell for that matter. Grading from a scan is hard as we all know due to the fact that small flaws that can only be seen from an angle cannot be seen. I have sold books for premiums on ebay with a stated 9.6 to 9.8 grade, but it is spotty. When I sell on the bay or here, most say I am very accurate or even a little too conservative on my grading. I have never had a buyer tell me I overgrade for sure.

I've sold multiple raw books that have been graded and to my knowledge so far, have all come back 9.8. I have yet to have any complaints from any buyers.

It can be hard for a seller like me, because I also grade many books and people who see my listings may wonder if the raw copies I have available are simply the lower end culls, which is simply not true.

For example, I recently dropped off a grading order and threw in a couple of the X-Files Hastings cover, I also sell these raw and when I get them back, it will look as if I am selling off the raw ones I didn't think were 9.8. But in truth I just plucked a couple of nice ones out to get graded from a full stack of minty books.

ebay would have removed the neg as he used it as a measure to threaten you

No. There is no proof he said he'd leave negative, just your word against his.

They would look at his feedback left for others and remove the neg. You may have to call ebay three or four times but they will do it.

I do see the option, it asks me to leave the feedback

pos neutral or negative...

I do not leave feedback until they do so first though...I'm bend over backwards to satisfy them, and I'm still at 100%. From exception shipping skills to complete wimpiness on customer service ( to a point ) ....but I think that not leaving feedback until the end seems to be an added incentive?

It might be true that this guy did not like your shipping, thought you owed him a discount due to that...sometimes paying the cost of shipping it back doesn't make financial sense...

He could have also sent you an email implying that he'd leave negative feedback...

'I'm just not happy with this transaction. I feel you failed to ship properly and I don't want to be out the shipping costs back'

No you don't see the option. You cannot leave negative feedback as a seller. You can either leave the buyer positive feedback, report the buyer, or click the I'll leave feedback later option. Only buyers can leave negative feedback.

negative. i ship to canada at cost. i print label cost on shipping label to prove i dont take advantage of canadian customers. if they overpay, i refund the amount when i print the labels. i also refund shipping back to me so its not that either. he is a scam artist, no if, ands, or buts about it. block him everyone. and you, as a seller, can not leave negative feedback.

:applause:

As a Canadian buyer, guys like this me off, as they lead to sellers deciding it's not worth the hassle to ship to Canada.
