Try this for a test.

Watch it with the volume off.Without the epic choir.

See what you get out of it.

I have no speakers on my PC so that's exactly how I watched it. Looks good.

I am a huge Superman fan - even enjoyed Superman returns. This trailer is very interesting to me - I can't decide what I think. For one thing the CG cape is distracting to me. Also, it sounds like Hans has recycled a decent chunk of the Gladiator soundtrack which feels confused with the rest of the trailer.

I'll see the film regardless, but I have mixed feelings on the trailer.

Who cares if it's CG or not, just go see it and like it!

My outlook is who doesn't know Superman's origin,

and is it worth so much real estate in an important property for DC?

But I'm very hopeful this is going to be the start of something big.

I thought the Origin/ opening of All Star Superman animated was near perfect.

"Doomed planet"... (still shot of Krypton)

"Desperate scientists"... (still shot of Kal El's parents)

"Last hope"... (still shot of a rocket in space)

"Kindly couple"... (still shot of earth-parents peering into rocket)

"Superman"

Nine words. Then right into the story. :cloud9:

There hasn't been an on-screen Superman origin since 1978.

There needs to be a retelling of his origin - I think if you asked most people who weren't comic book collectors, they would agree that they would want to see him "come to life" for the first time.

I agree. I'm ok with an origin on Supes.

The Spider-Man origin after like 6 or 7 years or whatever was ridiculous.

I see your points. My outlook is who doesn't know Superman's origin,

and is it worth so much real estate in an important property for DC?

But I'm very hopeful this is going to be the start of something big.

Due to the ongoing lawsuit, WB/DC would be smart to distance themselves as much as possible from the elements that the family has claim to in a new movie. It would not be personal, just business. (thumbs u

He won't be called Superman in the movie then.

I just want some continuity.

The same actor - regardless of who (as long as they are good in the role) for a run of at least 3 films.

Origin - if we really must - again.

Then 2 action films.

No frickin Lois Lane romantic rubbish or Lex Luthor.

New bad villains.

I want to see the Man of Steel, not supernanny!

Lord knows in the last 70 odd years, there have been enough in the comic to at least find one or two new ones.

As for film of 2013 - I have more anticipation towards WWZ.

Lets see what happens!
