Deadpool on the cover makes it hard to find those in $1 boxes nowadays. people may not even be buying it for the Domino, but rather, Deadpool

#8 is still out there.

+ 1

It's the early deadpool appearance and the fact that he's on the cover that helps it sell. Similar to how a lot of the early HQ appearances sell well.

$167.50 final gavel price...and it isn't even her 1st appearance...amazing. #8 is her 1st 'real' appearance.

Every time I see a bidding war btw 2 buyers over drek I think of this Joey Tissue Crumb panel

It's not drek if someone is paying $167 for it!

Anyway, seems a little crazy to me. x-force 2 in 9.8 can be had for $49.99. true, there are more of those out there, but are there THAT many more?

and you can almost get a 9.0 NM 98 for that much and definitely an 8.5.

heck, here's a SS NM 98 9.0 that only went for $30 more:

Yeah, that's what happens when you put a cooled off copper key up for auction, a year after, a movie comes out.

That book would have nabbed $400-$500, if it was listed via BIN (or maybe even auction, if it ended on a Sunday night) 1-2 months before the first Deadpool movie came out.

Hell, I had 2 straight up, dogged VG/FN copies that I sold 1-2 months before Deadpool was in theaters...

I got $199.99 BIN + shipping, on each book and it took less than a week for each book to sell.

Sorry my concrete jungle brother. This is prolly the silliest thing I've heard in a while :foryou:

dreck

noun informal

noun: drek

rubbish; trash.

"this so-called art is pure dreck"

One man's drek, another man's $167. I wouldn't call it "drek" now either...maybe 3 years ago, but not now.

Have you guys lost your mind? Like... completely?

If its printed in the 90s, First title's letter is X and its drawn by Liefeld - Its drek!

The problem were having with the market today is that its soooooo easy to pump and dump books that with just very little effort you can sell drek to the masses CONVINCING them they have the next big key. Time and again we see books over inflate and then drop back to nothing. How many books did this happen to? 100?? 1000???

We REFUSE to learn because as today's soup de'jour is served to us, we are blinded and mesmerized by its scent and drop our next car payment bill on it thinking "this is the one that will stick"!

X-Force #11 was is and always will be drek

$167 pays for dinner with the family (no booze though) at Peter Luger's. Not drek. Maybe it's , sure.

Hulk 271 is probably too. It had such a stupid looking cover I never bought it out of a quarter box and I have every other Hulk from around then, multiple copies. (Why? I have no idea. Mental illness. So many of those were terrible books.)

I don't understand your point. My point is that if you are going to spend that much money right now and you like deadpool why not get the really desirable key and not the one that is where you may be able to buy 10 raw 9.8s at $10-$15 each?

With that said, the newsstand does appear to be substantially less common...I see maybe a 10:1 or lower ratio on ebay and is probably even more less common in 9.8, so, as previously noted, that's probably a factor in this hitting this level.

My sarcasm switch is busted, but isn't X-force 11 the 1st appearance of what CGC calls the "real" domino?

just for clarification, is the Domino in #8 thereby a fake?

I did get Xforce 11 graded by my own submission (was cheaper) I did that because I did it with the punisher and seemed of similar importance to me (anyway :blahblah:) just the way I've been collecting for my own personal collection, not pump and dump...too many out there for ever to gain traction unless (like similar ASM 134, 135) "NO" one gets them graded and in 30 years there are not many high grades anymore....
