Here are all the Image new ongoing series #1 issues of the past 4 months

Sales are pretty consistent over most of them and they are now all sell outs

It can be debated that Zero is the rarest as there is only 8,000 copies of each cover

Zero #1 - 24,000 copies - 3 covers

Rat Queens #1 25,000 copies - 1 cover

Sidekick #1 27,000 copies - 2 covers

Satellite Sam #1 32,000 copies - 1 cover

Sheltered #1 19,000 copies - 1 cover

Ghosted #1 17,000 copies - 1 cover

Bounce #1 24,000 copies - 1 cover

Chin Music #1 22,000 copies - 1 cover

Sex Criminals #1 46,000 copies - 1 cover

Sex Criminals #1 46,000 copies - 1 cover

Lazarus #1 48,000 - 1 cover

Ten Grand #1 57,000 - 2 covers

East of west #1 49,000 - 1 cover

Sex #1 23,000 - 1 cover

Back in 2012 Image comics could actually gain in sales

that wont happen now

if readership grows on a title then back issues prices go up

if all these new image titles don't grow in readership than the #1's are never gonna be worth much

Comic sales need to grow or stay consistent and not continually drop month to month.

Lets analyze some of the recent Image titles.

Great Pacific #9 4,700 an ongoing that just isnt going anywhere

those sales are really weak for a major publisher

Bounce #1 was 24,000 and #4 is 9,000

Sheltered #1 19,000 and #2 is only 9,000

Ghosted #1 17,000 and #2 is 10,000

no wonder they stated both issues sold out lol

cause nobody ordered them

Chin Music #1 22,000 and #2 was 14,000

notice the trend that most #2's drop by about 40%

that is a huge drop

need to stablize by issue #3 or these titles are in trouble

Sex #1 was 23,000 and now at #6 its at 14,000 - that title has done quite well !!

sex has only lost about 40% by issue #6

thats actually more popular than most

Ten Grand #1 57,000 and #4 is at 19,000

thats a drop of 60% by issue #4

not a good sign

though of course it started way too high

Satellite Sam #1 32,000 and now #2 20,000 - again about 40% drop instantly

Lazarus #1 was 48,000 down to #3 24,000 - 50% by #3

East of West #1 49,000 to #5 36,000

that is super strong - barely lost any readers in 5 issues

Saga #1 37,000 and #13 is 55,000 - A GAIN OF 50 %%% SUPER HOT !

Interesting. I am guessing you are using the number of the new books based on the Bleeding Cool article.

A couple of issues with the list. Issue #2 is ordered before issue #1 comes out so I don't think a comparison betweeen the 2 of them. These numbers don't reflect readers but LCS speculation. It takes time to build in most cases.

East of West #1 had 3 covers and these included the Ghost and Forbidden Planet variants which I've been told represent about 6000 comics. That would bring the total of regular covers to around 43,000 copies. According to this aticle, Hickman stated the print run on #5 was 41,000 copies. I would think he would know how many were printed as this is a creator owned book. He is vested. I have been confused by how different the numbers were since Comichron shows around 36,000.

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/08/16/saga-13-sells-out-62000-print-run-walking-dead-113-of-76000-and-east-of-west-5-of-41000-jonathan-hickman-tells-us-why/

We have discussed this on the site before that issue #2 may actually become a hotter item than #1 for some of these comics. It happened with Rai 3 and 4 over 20 years ago so there is precedent. Time will tell. Thanks for the breakdown in numbers (thumbs u

25,000 is not large

but it helped it sell out immediately

and more impressive the print run is way way larger than Wiebe's last ongoing series Peter Panzerfaust which has NEVER had a print run that high even after 14 issues

This isn't the mid 90s - a 25k print run for a new indie title is actually above-average. To be honest, I'm surprised - I didn't think it would go above 15k, but I guess the speculators went out in force on this one.

I bought 1 :acclaim:

Too many eyes on this book and too much of a niche target market for it to be worth speculating on.

Number crunching is fun and all but this book rocked!

Read it late last night and loved it. The humor was great and the art fantastic. When to go Kurtis and Roc! (thumbs u

+1

It is good isn't it....but in Canada I have to fight for each copy...I guess titan doesn't believe in reprints?
