Free Comic Book Day!

How is everyone celebrating this year? I know last year, my LCS was so busy, it took over 30 minutes to check out at the register. The line wrapped around the whole store.

 

This year I am going to be busy. I've got a new four page story in this years Free Comic Book, "Top Shelf Kids Club". Lots of other artist friends in there. Check it out.

 

I am going to be signing books at my friends shop in Chicago, Aw Yeah Comics, from 10am-1:30ish. http://www.awyeahcomics.com/ Stop by and say hi if you are around!

 

Also, Acme Superstore in Longwood, Florida is having an original art show featuring Star Wars. I've got four paintings in there too.

 

It's nice to see how Free Comic Book Day continues to be such a success every year.

What do you guys think? Is it a day you show up at the shop or steer clear? Too crowded or a fun party?

FCBD starts tomorrow for me when i drop off 350 comics for 2nd-5th graders at the school where i volunteer. Saturday i'll hit at least two stores in my area, maybe three.

I don't even think I'm going to the comic store this year. I'll be at the casino entering a drawing and enjoying a Cinco De Mayo buffet in the afternoon, after that I think I'll pop on a movie at home.

the comic mart is on in Manchester the same day so i may nip in whilst i'm already in the city

You're going to 3 stores and waking up at dawn to get a few free comics? Not being rude, just curious as to why? Most can be had on eBay for a dollar each a couple of days after. Unless you know something i don't.
