The biggest issue is the spine and detached cover. It’s not fully split, just little chunks down the spine.

Yeah, it was a bit of a “beggars can’t be choosers” situation. Although I think it’s a very nice copy, I put my money where my mouth is. Sometimes you have to do that to get the fun comics you want. Yep, sometimes it's better to grab one when you have the chance rather than hold out. Here's mine. Looks a lot worse than yours. Paid a little over a hundred dollars for it if I remember right. Have always wanted to upgrade but that ship has probably sailed... Larryw7, podboy66, Mr. Lady Luck and 4 others

Not just the cover; IMO it's the best read of the run, ESP "The Running Ghost". I too have a copy that I've been wanting to upgrade, but don't know if that'll ever happen. Congrats on that group; I see one issue I don't have. Rip, Raze, Robot Man and 3 others
Popular Post Robot Man
Thanks for the tip. I will have to pull it out and reread it again. Here is my copy. Picked out of the $2.00 boxes at Cherokee Books in the late 1960's. @Tri-ColorBrian. I got lots of my PCH there back in the day. fifties, Raze, Jayman and 9 others 11

I bought an Action 3 at Cherokee Books in the 60's for full retail. $25.00. Around a vg/fine. Traded it for a bunch of stupid books to an older, savvier collector who hounded me day and night to get it. Robot Man
What a store huh? I got so many books from 50 cents to $2.00 in those boxes in the hall. I remember Burt Blum pulling out a nice copy of Action #1 and telling me it was $300. Might as well have been a million at the time…

I didn't come across Cherokee Books until 1972, when I was employed at Motown Records, in an office building at Sunset and Cahuenga. went in there one lunch hour and asked if they had any old horror comic books. He pulled out a small cardboard box and told me they were two bucks apiece. All PCH, mostly Atlas, no EC's, but did score a Mister Mystery 12, along with everything else I could afford, I think about 20 bucks worth. When I went back again a few weeks later, he was all out. That could have been me… My dad took me there in the mid ‘60’s before I could drive. PCH were a buck apiece. ECs were $5-8 each in in the inner room. Later, when I could drive, I made a trip there once a month from Pasadena. I bought stacks of dollar PCH and other books from the boxes in the hall. Still have most of them. It was a wonderful area with Cherokee, Collector’s Book Store and best of all, Bond Street Books where I eventually got my More Fun #52 there.
