What cool books did you buy in Chicago?

Didn't get a ton of books, but was happy with what I got. I picked up quite a few hardcovers at cheapo prices as gifts for friends who could not make the show.

David Merryweather's sole Wizardcon acquisition, and a very appropriate one...

We're taking a few days of R&R after Wizard, doing a bit of sightseeing in the Windy City before Amtraking back to Big D.

This pic was taken in our hotel room earlier today.

Wow, great batch of stuff, everyone. :applause:

Timing on this show didn't work out for me very well this year and I didn't have the opportunity to check out every booth that I wanted to see, but I still saw way more solid inventory in my area of interest than I have in recent years at this show (and Chicago is always a great show for shopping). I meant to pick up a Flash or two but didn't make it past my core Supes/Bats interests. lol

I seem to recall that last year's Chicago thread didn't get nearly this many posts, so looks like it was a pretty good show for vintage comics this year.

Purchases from Harley, Dale Roberts, Gator, and Jamie Graham this year.

I bought 1 book. :cloud9:

It might have a taped spine, and added staples.

Not 100% sure.

hm

Hard to tell from a scan, but I think it does.

A little wear around the edges but it looks like a solid, unrestored NM.

I think that shirt is out of register like Billy's book. Great dining with you Cat and the Mrs. She's a hoot.

It was nice to see you again David! I just have to ask though, what happened to the Weird Fantasy 15 GFC that you picked up from John Verzyl? Don't tell me it went in a trade for the Cat-Man!

Something is definitely weird about that, Steve! No Weird Fantasy was bought, sold or traded by me. hm

I did purchase a GFC of Weird Science-Fantasy #29 from Verzyl last month which is safely locked away in the Merryweather vault. I'm negotiating for a couple of more GFC with John, but no WF to date.

BTW, it was great seeing you and look forward to visiting again at future shows. (thumbs u
