Well that rumor has to have some degree of credibility merely because his socks are set for greenscreening. There must be some sort of special effecty thing they're doing with his legs. Gotta be some sort of running fast scene but while in his regular clothes.

If it isn't some sort of super-power thing, I can't imagine why they'd have his legs blocked out.

The other rumor floating around is this is going to be the John Corben version of Metallo. So at some point during the Zod vs. Superman MOS fight leading to the destruction of the city, he loses his legs due to falling building debris. Which would then explain the green screen socks up to a certain point.

---------------------

After John Byrne rewrote Superman's origins in the 1986 miniseries The Man of Steel, Metallo was also given an altered backstory.

In this version, John Corben was a small-time con man who was fatally injured in a car crash, but to his luck Professor Emmet Vale happened to pass by. Professor Vale was a pioneer in robotics, and erroneously believed that Superman was the first in a wave of superpowered Kryptonian invaders after recovering Superman's ship and mistranslating Jor-El's message to his son. Vale transplanted Corben's brain into a robotic alloy body, which was powered by a two-pound chunk of kryptonite, and instructed him to kill Superman. Metallo, now Corben's new moniker, thanked Vale by snapping his neck, which killed him.

---------------------

So this may be a version that now would have a deep hate for Superman due to the damage done to his body. Once he becomes a cyborg, now he would want to have his revenge.

it could go that way and i do think he can be playing Metallo and if he was playing the flash it would be Wally and not Barry.

Yeah, I could totally see the Metallo angle with the green socks as well.

Either way, it's definitely some significant plot point....gotta be a villain or a hero...nobody else is going to get CG legs.
