Early Appearance of Harley Quinn?

lol that's funny.

I personally wouldn't count Dixie cups or board games ( which I have ) but this is an illustrated book. Does the size not make it a comic ? Miniature Jesus or Mouse Guard or Farlaine anyone ? I would also second the fact that BA12 doesn't take place in continuity, just like this. I have no dog in the fight because I don't collect HQ or Deadpool for that matter. If I did, I would buy this book from Barnes and Noble or whoever. It could be important.

I just toasted a piece of bread. The burnt areas looks like Harley Quinn lol

Ok back on topic. This is still a cool piece and will still command some type of return especially for Harley Quinn fans. IMO

Because if it is a comic then JD just lost his shirt. ;)

OMG! How will I ever survive. I will have to eat my three BA12 9.8s. Perhaps a youfundme should be set up pronto.

:roflmao:

These Harley discussions have boomed and so has the price of the 9.8s since you started the king is actually a queen thread. I guess more people, or more people with money, watch these boards a little closer than I thought. This book took off like a rocket in less than 90 days.

We still love you, it's just that now you are the BA12 guy, like it or not.

A few years ago, the Alex Ross HQ book WAS MORE than Bat Adv.12. In fact, it was way more. I guess it took a long time for capitulation on the BA 12. But once that happened, it was no contest.......BA 12 is the winnah by a landslide.

It has been relatively close in my opinion.

This happened August 8th

Then this happened 2 months later

Then this happened October 2nd

I doubt the contest is over for the long haul or that prices have settled all the way one way or another. I am truly amazed that BA12 is bringing 250% to 300% more in a 3 month window on a 20 year old comic or that Batman Harley Quinn has fallen by nearly the same percentage in 2 months.

I do think it's extremely interesting and fun to watch and I'm curious to see where it all ends up in the wash.

True.......BUT I can give you a few (comic character) examples of where community consensus can change (over time).

Hellboy - First it was Next Men #21, THEN it was San Diego Comic-Con #2, THEN it was Dime Press #4, THEN it was 1991 Salt Lake City Convention Program.

I haven't heard this one. Most Hellboy people I know consider San Diego Comic Con 2 the first appearance. Dime Press is a prototype Hellboy (I believe Mignola himself says it is NOT Hellboy on the cover) and the Salt Lake City Convention Program is an ad.

I am interested in hearing that opinion has actually changed on all this though.

And, if that comic from the toy does pre-date the BAS 12, it seems to me it is the first appearance of the character in a comic.

Have read in a different forum that below is a rare comicbook that contains an early appearance of Harley Quinn.

The indicia on the back cover is 1993 but there is no month indicated.

Any info when this thing was actually published? If it's earlier than Batman Adventures 12 then this could really be her first appearance.

Front cover:

Inside pages (shows Harley Quinn):

How many pages does the book have and are most of the pages comic pages? If so and this pre-dates the BAS 12, then I think you are on to something here. Very cool find!
