I know it's a sad example, but can I join the club too?

Not at all a sad example IMO.

Nice looking PQ and as far as coverless books go, Batman #1 is one of my favorites. Fantastic Batman splash on the first page, iconic Joker splash on the second.

How did you get the Jerry Robinson signature?

O.K. looking for a low grade copy - even incomplete copy of Batman #1 - the one from 1940 NOT the new one.

I want a really sh***y copy of the original Batman #1 to fill-in a gap in my collection.

I've had a succession of low grade copies, each slightly better than the last, but either traded them off or sold them for various reasons the over years. I'm currently looking for a 0.5 or NG if someone were to go by CGC grading guideline and terminology.

Anyone who has a low-grade copy like what I have described for sale, can feel free to PM me

Finally able to join the club, waited for a complete copy with no tape and a back cover for a while. Super excited about it!

So what's FMV on the Bat #1 CGC 9.0 MP on eBay? A 9.2 B5 sold for $47,500 a few months ago, so I'm thinking maybe 40K?

The only data point on GPA that's throwing things out of whack is a 7.5 EP that apparently sold for 60K in July. Seems really high.

should be interesting to see where this ends up.

Batman #1

That is one horrible, gnarly, hot mess of a Batman 1

will probably still go for a hot 8 to 10k

and that would be a waste of good money for crumbling paper that used to be Bat 1

What are you talking about Bill (shrug) Looks like a bindery chip which is a production flaw so no downgrade :insane:

In all seriousness, I am continually amazed at how much people are paying for these extremely low grade books.

Bill wouldn't this be a perfect book for Kenny to get his hands on and make the pages pliable again? Aside from the PQ it presents pretty well.
