I just looked at that, it looks legit - I think.  There are 5 in 8.0 and 8 higher with 2 in 9.2, so it's not the highest.  An 8.5 last year sold on HA for $19,200.  

That same book sold for just under 2K in 2013, and it's not the same scan (from what I can tell):

Suspense 5 also in my opinion. Or as the kids say IMO.  Nice Tomato Red cover. Jersey Tomato Red (yes we have the best tomatoes, ain't called the Garden State for nothing.) . Other than a few 7.0's that have sold the past few years you just don't see any mid grade copies available too often.

Yep, it ain't cheap for a nice looking copy, still pennies compared to S3. And yeah, they do murder her. I guess you've read it? The bad guys win in that one if I recall correctly.

Nice Cornelius. I hope one day to join that club as well. I've heard good things about it.

So I grabbed this last night. Seems there were two other serious bids under mine. I have a feeling they may be from fellow boardies. Not gloating, just wondering.

Congrats!  I wasn't one of the bidders, but I'm sending in my copy to be graded in my next submission!  :)  That's one of only 9 graded copies so far.  Very cool!

Alright! So you'll be putting the census into the 2 digit stratosphere and bumping my new acquisition from the number 3 spot to the number 4. 

Just messin. Can't wait to see it. I hope it comes back with a nice grade. This particular book, so few graded but I'm sure there are lots of ungraded copies out there. To me it's not as much the grade but the colors that are the priority.

I've got a beat to hell copy of The Killers 1 on eBay this week, likely well below the collectors here standards.  And I'll be listing a bunch of low grade ones in the coming weeks (new to forum and am not sure of the rules on mentioning auctions and whatnot, do excuse).

Cole is hands down one of the top 5 geniuses of the golden age.  His sense of color is totally unique.  He puts colors together that should not go together, but they do - amazing.
