All this talk makes me wonder what that 9.6 would be worth if it came to market...
there were three of them last time I checked?...might push 7 figs again (shrug)

I think so. AF15 in 9.6 is a 1MM book.

And I also clearly remember it was not that long ago that most board members here said that the previous $1.1M sale for an AF 15 about 5 years ago would have resulted in a big loss for the purchaser if they had tried to out it back in the market.

It's amazing how fast the market for all of the keys and classic covers have gone up in just the past couple of years. (thumbs u

Actually, here on the boards, constantly hear that af15s are so common and blah blah. Only thing relevant should be demand vs supply equals value. Haters will be haters

Normally the true haters are the foxes who just can't reach the grapes.

The key is not what you price a book at before it sells, what matters is what someone is willing to pay after it sells.

As much as key books look like gold after the fact, someone laying out 7 figures for a comic is a big decision and even millionaires don't do it lightly.

When the 1st 9.6 sold it brought out a few others.

The 2nd sold for much less than $1MIL.

They are common.

It's an awesome book and and awesome cover but not everyone is a Spidey fan. And that doesn't make them haters.

I prefer FF #1 over AF #15. I like the story, artwork and the characters better. (shrug)

Has anyone noted that this 9.2 just sold for $6k more than the 9.4 did in just last year? (shrug)

-J.

I was going to mention that.

When Metro's 'prices paid' want list was still valid, the Heritage 9.4 went for what Metro was willing to pay for it.

$450K is a lot of scratch for a 9.2 (I was offered one for a customer and he turned it down - money wasn't an issue) so someone must have really wanted this one bad.

I don't feel the same way as you do I see AF15 in CGC 9.2 as a 1$ million dollar book in 5 years from now. Whoever got this 9.2 will be very happy if he holds on to it for 5 to 10 years (even more so if longer). Assuming he did not just buy it because he loves Spidey.

I figure once Action Comics 1 hits 5$ million dollars in 9.0 we will see AF15 in 9.2 at 1$ million dollars. When people see AC 1 sell for so much 1$ million won't seem much after that for the King of SA books in 9.2.

I would not be surprised to see AF15 in 9.2 go as high as 3$ million to 4$ million dollars in my life time (I am in my mid 30's).

I respect you Gator but AF15, Action 1 and TEC 27 in my view have very bright futures ahead. You could also throw in Hulk 1 and a few other major key books from the GA as well.

I my life time I see the following happening:

AC 1 9.0 = 12$ million dollars maybe up to 15$ million dollars

TEC 27 (highest graded) = 10$ million dollars to 12$ million dollars

AF15 9.2 = 3$ million dollars to 4$ million dollars

Hulk 1 9.2 2$ million dollars to 3$ million dollars

Cap 1, Sups 1, Bat 1 and so on will also be very high in value.

I don't see why not there are tons of millionaires already. Anyhow I spoke my peace this is how I see it.....some people pay hundreds of millions of dollars for paintings without any worries so a few million for top key books in to grade why not.

What you were sharing about the escalating prices sounded like what you were saying in all your previous posts. The MO sounded familiar. Buying all these issues sounds more like an investment to you than enjoying these comics for what they are. Correct me if I'm wrong, but sounds like you are very eager for these comics to continue to go up in value.

Normally there are only 1 of those paintings.
