Most significant X-Men

I'm sick of Wolverine by now bub.

Why do mutants have to have powers? Can't a mutant be resistant to a certain bacterial infection, for instance?

You mean like Wolverine? :D

Yeah....like wolverine...... doh!

Most significant X-Men (in no particular order)

1. Professor X (focal point)

2. Cyclops (leader)

3. Jean Grey/Phoenix (brought a fresh never ending saga)

4. Wolverine (the mysterious and unknown)

Most insignificant X-Men:

Thunderbird (John Proudstar) --only lasted three issues.

Wolverine, obviously. He's not only the most significant X-men, he's one of the most significant characters in comics, after maybe Superman/Batman/Spiderman depending on who's list you read on any given day.

1. Wolverine

2. Wolverine

3. Wolverine.

The X-Men would be nowhere today if it wasn't for his introduction.

The X-Men would not be as nearly as popular if it wasn't for John Byrne's pencils and an able assist by Terry Austin on inks. It was John Byrne that put Wolverine into the spotlight. Byrne more than anybody else was the reason for making the mutants appeal to the masses.

[font:Book Antiqua]Beside "snikt" and "The best at what he does"

he don't have any significant role

he don't grow as a character

repeating himself over and over again.

A couple of memorable story arcs but beside that...

The Japanese mutant Sunfire lasted even less time.

The Mimic didn't last very very long either
