Books like this have very minimal interest these days except to EC completists. And higher grade ones still bring pretty good money. I still hunt them just for fun but I really have no need to complete them unless I bump into them cheap and lower grade. I think pumping a lot of money into them is a losing proposition long term to me.

I always thought Ford got their idea for their 50's TBirds from the mother ship on this Wally Wood cover. I've always loved this cover and the cover of Tales from the Crypt #39 and was happy to finally get a nice copy of each of them within a month of one another not too long ago. I could stare at the art for days. KirbyJack

OtherEric
Is Panic #1 heating up for some reason? Someone posted they were looking for a copy in the Want to Buy threads, and I thought I could track one down quickly. But a check on eBay shows that a copy missing a back cover went for $79 and a 1.5 for $179. For ages it was a book you could get a decent mid-grade copy cheap. KirbyJack
I understand your confusion. You’re right; Panic 1 was easy and cheap. Then the universe heard that I kind of wanted one, and the pricing you see now kicked in. The good news is, after I get a copy and then make the decision to sell it, prices will drop right back down again. Popular Post Robot Man
Got this one in today. Down to 3 left. Buy them when you find them. Overstreet lists as scarce and I concur. Can’t remember seeing a copy for sale in many years. Maybe in one of the big auction companies, but I rarely look there. Someone found a few coverless ones that got snatched up quick. This is the type of book I go to conventions for but never see. And what a cover. Dare I say “classic”? I know Feldstein did very few romance covers. But some incredible ones. I won’t post in the Romance thread as I don’t want to make all those Atlas covers look bad… KirbyJack, Paul © ® ⚽️💙™, OtherEric and 8 others
Popular Post EC ed
A Mail Call for the Ages! Last month (in the ComicConnect auction) we saw the liquidation of one of the great EC Collections out there, as part of the "PACole" collection (as some of you surely know, his ECs represented only one of his many uber-impressive collecting strands) . @Pacole (aka Phil, who happens to be a boardie) and I go back a ways as collecting buddies - when he was building his collection back in the day, he bought a bunch of my EC undercopies behind the scenes (and he helped me out with a few books here and there, as well). He was also able to amass a bunch of pre-trend books that I have been coveting for years. He messaged me not too long ago to let me know that he was finally "ripping the band-aid off" and auctioning his entire collection (not just his ECs...everything!)...but that message came after the books were already in the hands of ComicConnect . I understand... As for the auction...Phil was auctioning so many books, I had to pick my battles going in. Gunfighter was the main battle I decided to pick, and it worked out OK. Phil, we'll miss you. Enjoy life, my friend. I feel privileged that I could drag a few more of your books into my collection on your way out...here's the haul (arrived today): fifties, goldust40, Jayman and 15 others
