For you who don’t know, Pop was one of the first comic dealers. He often put paper tape and extra staples on the spines to preserve readability not to restore them. I look at these as comic book history and a weird kind of “Pedigree”. Haven’t seen any out in the wild for quite some time. Ironically, #9 has special significance for me. Was my first EC and the first book I ever paid more than cover price for ($3.). Bought it at Cherokee Books in Hollywood. A legendary place for LA comic collectors. Sunvabiskit, I missed a Taschen sale again. I swear there needs to be a "Taschen Sale" thread or something because I don't always go into every thread every time I come on the forums. Missed this one by a few days from the looks of it. This is like the 2nd or 3rd sale I've missed by days. I would've loved both of the E.C. comics and Frazetta one. I had a true complete EC collection at one time but sold off most of them when the HB reprints came out. This was one of them. Always figured I could get them back but I was wrong. I never really realized how tough the pre trends were and how expensive they would be to replace. I find it oddly encouraging that they're introducing new titles, rather than reviving the old ones, at least to start... it suggests to me that they're really focused on doing EC's for the modern era, rather than relying fully on nostalgia.
