just for clarification purposes-- if someone who is on the 30 day clock uses the 48 hour rule to claim the latest item, does that reset their clock to 30 days from the latest claim?

 

You're asking if you claimed something on July 4th and can't claim something again until August 4th, BUT claim something via the 48 Hour Exception on July 15th, is your 30 day period extended until August 15th?

The 48 Hour Exception does not change your waiting period.

This is your thread so it's your rules but I'll just point this out, because you may or may not have considered it.

 

Items taken after 48 hour rule

Scenario A - Recent "taker" grabs something after 48 hours, clock doesn't reset

Scenario B - New "taker" grabs something after 48 hours, they get put on the sidelines for 30 days

 

If you're saying only items taken within the first 48 hours count for everybody's clocks - which might help all offers move on day 3 - then that rule makes sense....but the way I'm interpreting your stated clock rules seems to favor "frequent flyers".

 

 

What you're saying makes sense. If a new "taker" grabs something after 48 hours, and since they have no 30 day waiting period, they wouldn't be affected by the 30 day rule since they took the offer while the 48 Hour Exception was in play? Seems to make sense.

 

 

Then why would anyone take anything until the 48hrs are up if it should have no effect. Sounds like someone wanting to game the system.

 

If an offer is a very good offer then I don't think it would take the full 48 hours to get snatched up. There were several great offers that were snatched up within minutes of posting. The ones that seem to drag are those that can be picked up at most decent LCS. If anyone was trying to "game the system" then the current offer would already have gotten claimed since the 48 hours are up.

This, in no way, resembles anything close to fun. It's so far from "fun" that even if one of my offers is taken, I'd still like 3 strikes so I don't accidentally try to participate ever again.

1) Looks like I was right (and a friend of mine was wrong)...you guys do view me as a junk donkey

 

2) The goon squad/inner circle/Harvey's Henchmen thing does exist. jsilverjanet and hulksmash, you guys are bullies. 1Cool likes to stir the pot. CAHokie didn't jump in on the bashing and I believe that's because we are friends. Harvey...I'm not sure why he didn't bash me but I still think he doesn't want me in this thread.

 

3) I asked for the rude comments to be via PM so that there wouldn't be all the public bashing and belittling - I feel that's one thing that keeps new people from joining. Even that got mocked. (FYI - jsilverjanet was the only PM I got...and I think the only one mocking it)

 

4) I finished 91st out of 122 in the grading tournament....do my guess grades matter at all?

 

5) I'd like 3 strikes when this is over so I can't do this again even if I wanted.

 

6) Sorry I didn't change things up until now. I had it planned out but the insults and bickering made me want to wait - I realize now that I'm the only person it was hurting. I look bad and the bs continues to flow....last night the comments made me mad so I just went to bed and today I didn't update until I stopped vomiting - battling cancer and other digestive issues is hell....even more so than being in the hot seat in this thread.

It seems to me if this Spiderman offer isn't what a single person considers worth grabbing this thread has pretty much been narrowed down to those that have already participated. Could be wrong but I'm thinking people really are afraid to grab something.

I already have most of the comics in current offer thats been up for the past few days.

 

I'm sure there are others like me. Who visit the boards usually about once a day. The 30 day rule is good if you want more participation.
