Awards results.

Ever since I became a registered member of CGC, I have hoped that one day, I would win one of the major registry awards, like the best presentation award or a Best-Set-in-Age award, whether it be for Silver, Bronze or Copper Age.

Being that I'm more of a Copper Age collector, this Age was far more likely. I thought for sure that it would eventually be my New Mutants set, but so far, for some reason, that's never happened.

While I've waited with great anticipation every year to see if one of my sets would be graced with the award, I've only ever had the one set that was really worthy of it. But now I have at least three more sets that could and should garner consideration at the very least.

I still hope to have my New Mutants set eventually win one, but I know that I would be equally ecstatic to have either my Dazzler set, Booster Gold set or even my Mutant Massacre set take the prize this year.

After being disappointed year after year, I haven't held out much hope anymore to see my goal come true. What do I have to do to get more attention anyway? I mean, I've steadily collected for six years now, always put pics and descriptions on my books, prayed long and hard, even performed a blood ritual. Ok, not that last one maybe, but everything else. What more can I do? Name my firstborn "CGC"?

But after six years of CGC collecting, lo and behold, it has finally happened!!

After finally finishing off my Mutant Massacre set earlier this year, along with almost all of them being signed, it has won the Best Copper Age set award!!

That would have been enough for me, but oooooh no. They're apparently making up for the last six years, because they didn't stop there!

My New Mutants set, the one set that both me and my brother have been hoping for me to get a major award on was given a Best Presentation award!!

I don't believe it! I have always wanted a Best Presentation award, but never thought I would get one; and to get it AND a best Copper Age set award in the same year is beyond surprising.

I'm literally in shock right now. Does anyone know if someone has won more than one major award in the same year before? And how does CGC treat it? Do I get 2 years of paid membership fees along with coupons for each one? I'll have to call and check on all of that.

Also, congrats to Lee K for winning a Best Presentation Award for his fabulous DC Go-Go Check set! if you haven't "checked" his set out yet, do yourself a favor and give it a look. It's one of the more amazing CGC sets out there!

I want to thank everyone who rooted me on. And I especially want to thank Tnerb, Ronnylama and Surfer99 for all of their support, generous gifts and help with my work on these sets. I wouldn't have achieved this without you guys.

Congrats to everyone else who also won major awards this year and to all who have top ranked sets. This is an expensive but rewarding hobby that takes years of dedication to bring these beautiful sets to fruition.

These awards are an acknowledgement of the time, money and dedication that goes into these sets. We have the best community of collectors ever in one place here on the registry! You guys ROCK!

Congratulations man on your "Massacre" of the awards this year... I was hoping you would gain the New Mutants award seeing as you have almost the entire run 9.8 or higher and think we as a community can help both you and your brother gain those last 3 books you are missing.

Anyways hoping to take home one of those coveted awards within the next two years for my X-Force Set or maybe even the Liefeld Set. I know neither are wildly popular but trying to make sure to have my stuff straight by the 2016 awards. Just want to make sure I take my time and never overstretch myself financially though which is why my sights are not on next year but the year after. Even planning on getting Liefeld and a few other X-Force creators to sign my X-Force award and attempt to get it CGC'ed as a photo. I know it means nothing to most but its an awesome thing to me I guess. Even picked up a few pieces of original art from Liefelds run to put on the reverse photos in a vain attempt to separate myself I guess.

Congrat's to both you and Lee K on the amazing awards.

Congratulations, and do be careful when having X-Men 212 and 213 signed, you do not want these books manhandled by the artist ;) Still interesting how that 9.6 ended up as a 9.8 SS, maybe SS is not to be feared at all hm:grin:

Wow, now that is a unique idea! I might have to look into that myself on a certificate or two! Hope you don't mind me utilizing that. Very cool idea!

Thanks and I will. I'm taking 213 with me to Baltimore for Alan Davis.

Go right ahead man. Figured you might want to try it with the New Mutants Cert. and get the entire group of contributors to do the same. Had Liefeld do it to my award last year but didn't get it CGC'ed. This year will go to Amazing Houston and have him and Joe Rubinstein for starters sign it. Going to be one long process though but since I'll be attending NYCC probably try to get the bulk of signatures there.

That's awesome! Yeah, if I get the certificates back soon enough, I could get McLeod, Rubinstein and Louise Simonson on mine at Baltimore.

after your text i jumped online right away to see, it wasn't that I didn't believe you, it was I had to see it for myself. I am very proud of you, after talking about it for the past few years I was estatic that you won tow major awards. There is nothing I can type here that I didn't already text you, although I do wonder what other sets had multiple winners? The New Mutants has a best set from me two years ago and currently you this year.

and then I have to add a Congrats to Lee K. His love an appreciation of the Go Go check books is even winning me over that I might have to buy one.

Congrats to everytine that won an award.
