Just got my Terry Austin books back. I sent in 4 books. 3 will have to make a return trip.

This one has either a bubble in the inner well or some debris has and is now causing a dimple on the back . Hopefully they will press this issue back out.

the next two :

One has Terry Austin and John Byrne signatures on the first inside page (I figured they would make a notation of this. I made sure to mention it. I even thought they may give it the Green/ Yellow label due to it.

The other is a Double Cover.  Obviously they missed it as there is no mention nor inner/ outer cover grades. :facepalm:

You can see the one success and how I originally marked these so there is not excuse for them missing these. You can also see the interior Signatures here..

these self inflicted issues

Bothering to have comics graded when they're destined for your collection, with the current turnaround and quality control issues, is self-inflicted misery. If you're slabbing to sell then it should be an expectation of doing business.

I've been wanting to submit some of my books for quite a while, but the QC issues and turnaround times give me absolutely no incentive to do so right now.  I have no intention of selling them for a few years, so maybe I should just submit them now and hope to have them back by 2029 or so.

@CGC Mike

Can we get someone at CGC to address books being slabbed upside-down?  This is total clown shoes....:facepalm:

Bump for @CGC Mike.  I can't remember when I mentioned this, but clearly little, or not enough has been done by CGC to limit how often these mistakes are getting through.  And some of these are EGREGIOUS errors.  Corporate is aware that the less faith collectors have in the quality of CGC's services, the more harmful it is long term to the business right?  To one extreme, we see what happens when faith is completely eroded in a business (see PGX).  While I imagine business is booming again with all those private signing events, there is a real long term concern on a brand when it can't be trusted to do even the simplest of things.  Would really appreciate some insight into what CGC is doing to make sure all these Quality Control issues that have seemingly multiplied the last two years are taken care of.

Wait, are you telling me CGC certified and graded a bogus comic and claimed it was real?

No it wasn't bogus, it was a published comic, only it was mislabeled.

It should be a facsimile reprint on the label

Ok, so I may be slow on the uptake here but to me "facsimile" means a copy.  So someone made a copy (on a color printer?) of a comic and sent it in for a grade and it was graded?  How does that work?

Lol I understand what you're saying but

You've heard of golden record reprints? Marvel published"facsimile reprints".

That's the variant that they are labeled as on cgc. I'm kind of stating the same thing, but hopefully it's understandable now
