Anyone else have this happen? Is this a defect? From the front, looks like a crack. But, on closer inspection, seems to be something with how they sealed it. Two boxes of moderns, about 50 books, all have it, but the two walkthroughs did not. This the new newton ring?

I'm not seeing a crack, ,and those are pretty good pics too. Just looks like a case with an inner well.

Now I do but it's only in the 1st pic and I was on my phone, now on tablet so I see the first pic. I DO understand why you ask, but I lean toward no still, because its not broken off inside nor is there a jagged edge. It just looks like a bad seal when the plastic was fitted.... imo. @CGC Mike

Not sure I'd worry just yet, unless your just getting it back and need to do a "me", why I tagged Mike.

If it was a purchase, then still pertinent. Just now see it, but lean towards no just a bad seal. Maybe others will have a more secure opinion

Cgc Mike should facilitate it going back then, because it is obviously a defect, and submissions get more consideration for a free reholder.

But ya it just looks like older plastic that when sealed didn't take the Sonic weld very well. I could be way off but is my opinion of understanding

I will say they usually Sonic weld in that spot and. They do it more secure now, to where you can't fit paper in to get rid of newton rings, so maybe not old plastic but just welded too long for over kill! Like a flash too much

It's my opinion that customer service will see this as acceptable.  It's not in the line of view of the book.  Again, that is my opinion.  Feel free to ask customer service for a second opinion.

It's a flaw that was never on these new cases until very recently.

Something has changed to cause this.

And it is unacceptable as it looks like the case was dropped or banged into something to cause the crack.
