Got my first taste of a properrrrr CGC screw up. 
 

The Black Panther was a throw in book so it didn’t mean much to me but had it pegged as a rock solid 9.8. When it got a 9.4 with indentions I thought that was strange. Got it back and looked it over and there’s not a single indentions on this book. Howeverrrrr, the spine was pinched in the inner well during encapsulation and caused the cover to pull off the staples during shipping. Nice! 
 

The SS 44 came back and try to guess what the grade is? I’ll post it after. This book did not have these crazy waves when it went out. 
 

@CGC Mike any guidance for this?

Here’s the SS 44. Would you be stoked if you bought at this grade and THAT was the book that showed up?

I bought this thinking it was the first appearance of Knull and the first printing. But nothing was mentioned on the label, did I miss something? Is this a reprint or a CGC error? Every other copy I have seen has it on the label. Why the tumbleweeds on this one?

It's the correct year on the label, and yes it is the 1st knull, but not sure how the label notes went awry... I'd tag cgc Mike, if you haven't.

I misspoke, this is not just back from cgc, which I misunderstood, but thankfully there is a solution.

If you bought this from someone already graded, more than likely, look up the cert number to see when it was graded, as cgc doesn't always put label notes on early graded books and I think that is the case here.

You didn't get ripped, and cgc didn't mess up. More than likely just graded before cgc notated labels for knull!

This keeps getting worse and worse where we can't take the load off @CGC Mike IT IS RECENTLY GRADED WITH NO LABEL NOTES

idk it is getting to the point I just don't know.

Anyway maybe Mike can work it out. If not under your account back from cgc though, it doesn't sound likely

I have an odd happening.  I sent a book out and it came back listed as a variant, but it clearly isn't a variant.  (The variant is a price variant and you can clearly see it isn't)  CGC isn't big on phone numbers or email contacts, how can I let them know my book is incorrectly labeled and get it corrected?

Its also been said that you can fill out a mechanical error on the website submission page as well, but I haven't had to do that route personally yet.

You can send this back to us as a mechanical error, as long as you do so within 14 days of receiving it.  After you complete a submission form, a prepaid shipping label will be sent to you through our website.  (not by e-mail)  If you live outside the US, one would have to be sent to you manually.   When you ship it, send me a PM with the tracking number and the packing slip number.  Be sure to put exactly what the problem is on the packing slip.

I recommend starting a thread in the Ask CGC section, as I am not sure if we will correct this.  They will answer you in the AM.

You can submit this a Mechanical Error, provided you do it within 14 days of receiving it.  Create a submission form by selecting the mechanical error option, and include the reason both on the submission form and packing slip.  After finishing the form, a prepaid shipping label will be sent to you through our website, provided you live in the US.  If not, a label will have to be sent to you manually.
